   Did any of you see/read the article in the Sunday Star, February 3, 2008, entitled "Delegate wants to ban under 13 hunting.  The article states:
          A Prince Georges county lawmaker is proposing a ban on hunting licenses for those under 13 years old.  there is currently no age minimum for a hunting llicense in Maryland.  Democratic Delegate Barbara Frush says children under 13 have no business handling high-powered guns in the woods.  Frush is also sponsoring a bill that would end the states black bear hunt.  The delegate says her proposals are common-sense measures.  Frush hasproposed changes in hunting laws many times before without success.

      Now, my question is WHY????
  Doesn't this delegate have nothing else better to do, but sit behind a desk and pester people and bother things that she probably has no idea about.  Leave our kids alone.  Come on now, I believe it is the parents choice to decide when a child is ready to hunt.  Kids need to be taught at an early age to keep their interests.  Studies have shown that, "by the age of 13, 70% of kids involved in sports, drop out because it is no longer fun.  If you dont want a kid to go hunting or have a hunting license until they are 13 years of age, then you have already lost them. 
       I have three daughters of my own, ages 13, 9 and 5.  I started taking these kids with me in the woods as soon as they could walk, just as I was raised by my family.  This prolong heritage and family values.  I want my kids to learn about the woods and hunting.  I want to teach them what I Know and learned, but if you dont start a child out young, they wont start at all and you will lose them. 
       Hunting is not something you can force on a child or any one at any age for the matter.  Kids today are too much into video games, Television, Rap Music, and above all violence.  Do you know that statistics show that "kids see 8000 murders and 100,000 acts of viiolence on television before they graduate from high school".  I say avoid this and get your kids outside.
      Apparently Delegate Frush like the rest of the politicians wants to tell everybody how to live there lives.  i guess she must be perfect and live the perfect life.  I ask you Delegate Frush, have you ever been out hunting and ever killed anything??????  Probably not!!!!!!!
      You have to realize that hunting is not about killing, its about life, and the preservation of a natural resource.  Let a kid go out with their parents at  a young age and let them decide if they want to kill something or not.  I know kids that hunt with their parents that have yet to pull the trigger, because they couldn't and thats their choice.  They just did not want to kill something, but they enjoyed being outside and hunting.  Then I know kids that will shoot something at the sit of it.  A little fast on the trigger.  They just need to slow down.
       So again, I ask Delegate Frush, WHY ???????????

    Now as far as ending bear hunting in the state of Maryland, I dont care what you do.  I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, we dont have bears over here, YET.  So, you just go ahead and stop bear hunting in Maryland and lit them critters swim the Chesapeake Bay, WE WILL shoot them over here.

        So, I say to everyone, especially the parents and the kids of the state of Maryland, speak up and speak out, before someone takes away on of our rights and our kids rights.

I have been posting pictures of my 2006 Bear hunt in Canada with Club Lac Brule Outfitters. 80,000 plus acres of great territory in Quebec. This is an 18 hour drive from Cambridge. Available are Bear, Moose, Wolf, Deer, small game, Waterfowl and some of the best fishing for Northern Pike and Walleye you could imagine. The scenery is unbelievable. The Club house is 50 miles off the main road and over 3 hours from the nearest town. You will enjoy great meals and great people. Hunting a bear with a bow and arrow is a challenge and a great experience. Hunting is over bait. Track-a-Rack is a service provided to deer hunters by myself and my dog to help find wounded deer. This service has been provided for the past 3 years to the local hunters. A good blood trail in the beginning is necessary for the dog to get that particular deer scent. There is no guarentee but we are worth a try. There is a fee of $25.00 to start, additional fees may be added for time spent tracking the deer.

On Sunday, December 2, 2007 my dog and I spent neary 7 hours in the woods tracking 2 seperate deer. Both deer were found but not retreived, as both deer were still alive and very mobile.
