Now that the season is over, I'm finally going to get around to starting my own journal. Kinda of bass ackwards, I know!

Anyways, I'm 23 and live in SW Illinois. I'm about 15 minutes from downtown STL. I grew up on a farm in central Illinois and have hunted there for the past 11 years. I was married this past June to my lovely bride who is very understanding about my passion for the outdoors.

This past season, my buddy, who I've hunted with for a number of years, and I started hunting in west central Illinois. His inlaws have an outfitting business up there and we are lucky enough to be able to help out and hunt on the ground.

This past two seasons we started filming our hunts and became quickly addicted. We went from a standard 3ccd camera to now having an HD camera for this coming season. It is a blast to be able to bring home footage of what you saw that morning or afternoon. My buddy enjoys hunting a bit more than he likes filming, so I do the majority of the filming while he hunts. I find it just as rewarding getting a shot with a camera as I do with a bow or gun.

I started this journal as a way for me to keep track of my hunts and scouting. Hopefully others will find it enjoyable or entertaining!
