..Yes , i need probably more hunters than i have to produce even better and bigger deer... What am I crazy? Crazy like a fox, this is one of my keys to a great hunting spot... I live in the suburbs of DC, Anne arundel county Maryland,  nice land mixed in with communities ....We have extensive conservation locally with alot of housing in the mix.I have been lucky enough to accumulate the rights  to almost 1000 acres...many differnt spots from 14 acres to 356 acres. Almost 14 different places that I find almost equal in Bow opportunity no matter what the size. Rarely do I find a tresspasser till gun opens up and then its on..big time tresspassers,coming in seeing you getting out,before you can do anything,boy does gun bring out the idiots...Not saying everyone who gun hunts is an idiot, but any farmer will tell you he can't hunt opening day,because he is to busy running people off. I left 196 acres open for two weeks to let a buddy and his daughter hunt youth day ..Yes ,that helped...not only did they run into poachers they almost got shot..and it wasn't even legal for adults to be in the woods with guns.Face it,there are a few hunters out there that ruin it for everyone.Try to lease land and the farmers getpeople walking through thier fields, leaving trash and starting problems with the neighbors by encroaching or going on thier property.Wonder why they dont lease more?  My answer is tried and true, You need people on your properties once a week if they are over 100 acres,and once every  week or two on the smaller pieces.. Wont this burn out the pieces? not if you scout in the off season and not scent up during the season, go straight to where you are going and use a cover scent (doesn't always have to be deer, use fox etc..) . They are extra eyes in the woods and also tell you what deer are there, scout from thier stand...I'm not saying to pressure the deer, no do everything you can not to let them know your there,but at the same time do everything to let people know your there...You need to have a presence and know who is hunting there. You know the guy who has no permission is shooting small deer ,any deer,  brown its down. Those words make you shake if you take land management seriously.So my answer is police your land with hunters that follow the rules you have set .. The ones of buck size, when to shoot does, not walking all over the property, not leaving trash,parking where they are suppose to park. And most important KEEPING OFF TRESSPASSERS!!!!!!.  So now you know another secret I use ...Proof will be in this years pictures..they get better every year and I expect this year to be the best one yet for RBF!!!! I better stop telling everybody my secrets..but no one reads these blogs anyway..HAHAHA

at my site I am trying to develop alot of articles that will help those willing to learn...Like my dad use to say ...you can learn something from everybody.. So some of this you might know and some you might not,,,I have used many scents as we all have..I have had some success with all brands, just some produce  better..Buck bomb , tinks,code blue,wildlife research ,local fresh deer pee etc...But we must know the right timt to use them ,develop working combos,like estrus and young buck or dominant combo,maybe even all three at one time....We all probably use doe pee for either a curiousity or cover scent...very rarely have I had this bring in a big buck by itself,but in the early season Doe pee and Young buck will bring in alot of deer checking out what is up.Which is god ,but alot of its big buck innefectiveness comes because the big bucks aren't ready till late october or early November....The young buck usually brings in every type of deer from a Dominant  buck to buttons and does ..I find this easily to be the most versatile of scents....I can't count how many times I have sprayed scent on my boots before i walk in and watch a deer follow the same trail i just walked down,if you don't spray your boots you are misssing alot of deer....If I had my choice and it wasn't rut, young buck is the best...when october and november rolll around the Estrus slays them...Most of the big bucks killed here were shot within feet of a buck bomb estrus tampon..Yes i said tampon not wick..the scentless tampon is the best wicks available,,,20 of them cost about the same as a three pack of wicks and the tampons com with a string and individually packed for easy use....Hang and spray three or four of them around you,hit your boots on the way in and your probably in for some action..The Estrus in combo with dominant or young buck is the extra step that would put  you over the top...Nothing ticks off a big buck more than thinking some other buck is on a hot Doe....One year I got alot of extra dominant Buck bomb...I was told it was all or nothing..But to my surprise i found it very versatile and to my surprise the young bucks come in curious not scared... The biggest buck ever arrowed here (15pt 184 inch) was on Dominant buck and the biggest buck I ever missed was on Dominant. caused me to go by a range finder.That darn arrow went right under him ..got excited thought he was at twenty not 30 yards,darn...Dominant has become my favorite scent if i had only scent for all year ..i would use Dominant..it gets them early and late..all year long...I have really stopped using most brands and stick with the buck bomb..It is easily contained can be used over and over and still stays fresh, I was really a big tinks fan and I love thier rutting sticks (during the rut) all other burning sticks pale in comparrison..You can actually let the smoke get on you for cover scent and it works fantastic.I can't wait for the Tinks bomb coming out this year..they are working with buck bomb and the combo product should be super...Try that one for sure. Hopefully you got a little information you can use this coming year. My customers surely thank Darren and Rick of the buck bomb,because it works without a doubt,,,good luck scenting and hunting

Every year i try to go out shed hunting..and i have only found a few sets in alot of years ....I always produce big deer every year...but i have almost no luck finding sheds...if theyre not right under my nose. Anybody have helpfull tips on shed hunting...time or some strategy...thanks "harvest a big one..whatever it is..hahahaha

With turkey season and fishing come to our mind this week...the big gobbler ..catching pond bass or Chesapeake Rock.......But those truely facinated by the White-tail or other big game..this time for-ever is your most important time..............What do I mean...come hunt here and you will get to get see some nice deer.....Will rosenberg took a184 bow kill and in 4 years we have taken 5 deer in the 160 range with limited hunting...This year Kevin Koufa arrowed a buck with 7 inch bases....he was 6 years old only a base 6 pointer ..7 total but he went 130 +rough score....probably one of my favorite deer that i have helped harvest...Heck wills bases were only 5 1/4......Check out the picks at my site...These deer are beind produced on small pieces in MARYLAND...of all places MARYLAND thw sleeper state...But the real key word is produced...1st and foremost....We all know you can't shoot the little bucks...but do  we as stewards of our property really practice it.....We can't have 30 doe to every buck....which is what I find every time I start to manage a new pieceof land....Nature didn't do that ...so called hunters ruined that..probably the same type of Alpha male that shoots anything that moves preferably a buck....unfortuneately any buck....Stay away  from the little bucks..this will inrease your sightings and chances for years to come...Another big mistake is to stop feeding when the season is over...No.No.No. this is the time to feed the bucks and doe will group up...They need their food,they have had a hard fall with hunting pressure and the rut...Corn is a great source od heat also in the coldest months of winter ..late january and February ... It will draw them.You feed them now and they will stay till next year.With that out of the way ,lets get to land management...January  is very important time to get your mineral sites in... this is the very important for growing fetus and the growing deer... Sure thier actual antler growth doesn't start till may or june...but their skeletal growth and strength can be greatly improved all year.... I definately refreshen my mineral sites in may-early jine.Calcium and phosphate are what the large majority of what the bones and antlers are made of....where in nature do we get this..the answer is basically deer don't have adequate supplies of either...So a mineral site is essential to monster deer.....food plots are nice ..but minerals are essential. You can buy many different mineral products....But remember deer cocaine is 98% white salt..so save some money and by an 80 lb bag of white salt at your feed store...deer find it very tasty...but to make your site effective you need to have minerals also...Red salt usually has traces of many minerals and is important..but not as tasty to the deer as white....But the Rosebud Farm hunting magic secret is Dical-Phosphate...it is expensive and not as attractive to the deer alone..Di-cal is a calf and cow supplement that when cut with red and white salt will transform your deer over a 3-5 year period...sure it will make a difference this year ..but it will transform your heard in 3-5 years....Di -Cal is deer steroids in a bag!!!. Check out my mixture.Take 50% white salt with 25% red salt and 25% dical.....and don't forget you owe me big time when those monsters start showing up bigger than you have ever had them Remeber Big Deer ..Remember Rosebud Farm Hunting

What scent do you use.. I really have been lucky to be around alot of different hunters and to have helped alot of different hunters get nice bucks.......we all should know that for any deer lure to work it must be used in the right season and at the right time...............I really like alot of deer lure the less exspensive ones work ok when used at the right time of year... but i have seen alot of good luck with tinks 69 and code blue........I really love the Rut scent sticks made by Tinks ..I have had real good luck with them and until the Buck Bomb came out it was my favorite.......But the buck bomb brings trophy kills to bow range every year at my farm...Darren and Rick have been good friends ...but their product is a big key to my hunting operation.........the cans are reuseable and you can keep the product fresh and the Estrus has brought many buck noses right to the wicks in late October and Early November..... The young buck brings them all year does and bucks...the doe pee is a real good cover and an ok curiousity as is vanilla...My personal favorite is Dominant Buck it attracts almost all deer ...I don''t think it scares away much...but it will produce some mad Big Bucks ..This year I shot a 24" six pointer and my son arrowed a beautiful 15 point buck that scored right at 184....................For all its worth and all the hunters at Rosebud farms has proven that unless its fresh out of the bladder pee and or a fresh cut tarsel......Scents work and the Best most versatile scent is the BUCK BOMB!!!!
