This year turkey hunt was like no other, rather then talking about how perfect the scouting was and how grate the calling was and all the stars lined up.................... lets just say I got a 9" beard with 1" spurs with a 4 and 5 year old in tow..............

it was as add and abnormally as you could think, first off we have a 40 acre ranch in Roseville Ca. The City of Roseville owns all of the land around us and as like the rest of Cal. they promptly closed it all to the public, by gating the access roads (its not that you can’t use it....... but you just have a real hard time getting to it with out the roads. (good thing we have a key) so now we are hunting Mike's honey whole that know is about 500 acres. (Thanks Roseville the hunting has never been better) Ok on with the story.

We go to the farm every year for turkeys and we get our limit every year. This year started off a little slow, we did not see a turkey for 2 days. On the 3rd day after the hunt we were sitting around the kitchen table trying to figure out were we would look for them next and in the back corner of the farm I see 2 turkeys running like hell.............. I take off running for the highest ground we have (on top of the boat) so I make it to top of the boat and start glassing the back field, and there they where, there was about 20 birds looking like they are going to bed down out in the middle of the back field.

The good news is we now know where they are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the bad know is they are 500 years in the middle of a field that has no way to set up in the creek bed with out getting caught.

so Being the team player that I am, I tell my two buddies that I would take my son (4) and my buddies son (5) and walk all the way to the other side of the turkeys and we would walk real slow and well with a  4 and 5 year old, I am sure you can image how loud they where. Well as planed the turkeys see us coming and run straight for the creek bed            &nb sp;   then they start turning and running 90 degrees between us
so I take off running to turn them back to the creek bed. I take about 20 to 30 steppes and I spoock up about 10 to 13 more, but these one are only about 20 feet in front of me,,,,,,,,,,, I spot the tom right off and I did not think about it or anything,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

so I know I know what about the 4 and 5 year old.......... as soon as I started to run they had their play guns in hand and where right behind me and when I shot they booth said I GOT.................. (meaning they shot it) No how could I argu with that those where some pround boys

A few of you asked that I post this and I really don't know what to say, so I hope I don’t ramble for you to much.
I do have to worn you I am not a good speller and spell check will not tell me when I spelled the wrong word right......... so if it don’t read right because one word just don’t make sense, just think what other spelling for that word can there be. And you will be the meaning

Ok here is my story,
I work in the hunting and fishing industry and I go to some way off the chart places, from Alaska to Cabo. I can be in a place for one day or for 2 to 3 week. I have owned RV's, regular tong trailers, ToyHaulers and I have to say ToyHauler is the only way to go...................

But for a guy like me, I flat ware them out in about 3 years, with buckled walls and the interior walls all flapping like they put them in with glue instead of screws, the cabinets typically make it about a year, before I have to reinforce them.

So about 4 years ago I sat down and started drawing up what I thought was the perfect trailer for a guy like me.

Over the last 4 years I have been paying attention to every ToyHauler on the market, form how they build them to what they have in them.

What I came up with is they just don’t build them strong enough for off the highway use and I’m not staying in any camp ground. (Hell my trailers get custom pin striping if you know what I mean………..)
Most of all the walls are made out of particle board or pressed word (that stuff weights a ton and has no strength when it comes to the movement of a trailer.

After looking at every trailer that came into my brother-in-law’s shop form ToyHaulers, Car haulers, to full blown race trailers and I don’t mean like the one Carson trailer makes. (ok, I through one under the buss but hay you get what you pay for)

So I decided to frame it out of box Steel just like what they use to build the double stack Race trailers.
I know, I hear someone saying, “why are you building it out of steel instead of aluminum”.
So here is the answer to your question. Yes Aluminum is close to half the weight of steel and Aluminum has half of the strength of steel, so if I built it out of aluminum I would have to use twice as much material to give it the strength of the steel framed one. (Remember, I took 4 years to study this) One of the things I did was to take 2 24’ double stake race trailers one form……… (just thought of something, I don’t what to through any them under the buss) I’m just going to say “Alum trailer” and “Steel Trailer”.
Guess witch one was lighter????????
Yep the “Steel trailer”, it was just a little over 1000 pounds lighter. (Steel is a lot cheaper then aluminum. Just thought I’d point that out too)
So, having the advantage of my brother-in-law being the owner of RB Components and going by the shop every time he had a stacker in, I would check out how they build those monsters. I deiced to build it close to the same way (but mine will not be a stacker)

I came up with is a pointed noise 100% steeled framed trail, instead of particleboard, all aluminum Cabinets (witch is really cool because it has that NASCAR look) the floor will be sealed, so if I what to wash it out I can, Solar power for remote use and low coast on liquid gold, but it will have a Generador built in, for all since a purpose it will be a Toyhauler, but just not built like one.

you can see the building proce here if you would, I would have posted them in this blog but it will not or I do not know how to http://www.theoutdoorsforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16103
