Hmmm... yeah. But it should work. Did you make sure USB stream is on in the camera menu? If it's not your computer will not recognize it. Also you might want to consider getting a Firewire card for you computer. it works alot better and you videos will look alot more clearer. USB works good for youtube but, that's about it. Also, im sure you do have your camera on and in play mode when you hook it up, right?

i'am having a hard time uploading video. I bought a new camera and having a hard time uploading video.i got a sony dcr-hc38 I don't know if it is my girlfriends comp. or what? she has windows vista.let me know what you might think the problem is thanks.

Hey man sorry for the confusion. I live in Greencastle. I just moved here in August. I really have no where to hunt but it is one of my passions. So I would be game to hunt pretty much anywhere anytime. Talk to ya soon
