i cant ask anything on huntingnet anymoe becaseue iguess i was banned for saying h*** and a** and the youth forum mod banned me. im pretty mad about it too...........

Well that sucks. But I can understand their intention. They have some pretty you kids on there sometimes. Can you post in the other forums or did they ban you from all of them. Did they give you a warning first?

Another site I go to is outdoor to the core (I think its www.outdoorcore.com) They are pretty good. don't spend a ton of time on any forum anymore though. During season I spend more time though.

i been thinking about it yes the mechanical broadheads are just something else that can go wrong and i need something that will be simple but get the job done. i will take a look at muzzys and any other fixed blade broadheads
any BH's that you reccommend i stay away from?

I just know muzzy's are tough for a replacable blade BH. I use magnus fixxed blades on my recurves and used to on my compound. just ask on hunting net for what people have and haven't had good luck with. If you can get a sharp BH to fly right I think you'll be good.

Let me know closer to season if you want to try the ones I have.

allright that would be great
im gonna post a question on huntingnet about broaadheads etc. not that you dont know what your talking about (you know a lot more about archery than me lol) i jsut want more opinions etc.

I don't blame you for asking as many people as you can. I did the same thing starting out years ago. Unfortunatly huntingnet and others werent around then. If you can shoot some different ones and see what you like your better off. ALOT of people like the muzzy BHs. But many people don't want to worry that their bow isn't perfectly tune. I've never had a problem with arrow flight out of my compound with the muzzy 4 blade. And I never put a ton of work into perfect tune. of course that bow is 10+ years old now. Still shoots 2 inch groups at 40 yards. so why buy a new one.

To be honest. people over-complicate archery. I loved archery at first just to get in the woods more. Then I found I loved to shoot. So quiet and you can shoot almost anywhere. I hope you don't get wrapped up in the speed bow techno stuff. It may ruin it for you if you do. Get a setup you like and keep it. Forget feet per second etc. If it shoots well for you then don't change....Sorry just trying to save you a bunch of headaches and hassles over the years.

I went Traditional (mostly) because of the simplicity of it. Stick and string. Its more about your shooting than what gadget is hanging on your bow. And its so much fun to fling arrows without having to think to much. LOL

But I still have my compound and it goes with me sometimes to the woods because I trust it. Its nothing special...but the deer its taken don't seem to mind.

actually i may be pulling 50 i think im pulling 60 but not sure........

so do you like rages?
what would you reccommend?

I have rage 2 blades ...but have not used them. They look devistating. My compound pulls 65lbs. Plenth o pull for rages. I have been told over 50lbs is ok for rages.

Personaly I know muzzy's work. They are tough and realy do the job. Every deer I have shot with them don't go far and the blood trails were huge. not hart to follow. Of course you have to place the shot right. No BH will make up for poor placement. I'd recommend Muzzy 100 4 blade. They are fly great for me and if I have the chance I eliminate any possible failure. Rages have to move to open. They seem pretty good but there are thousands of things that can happen to mess you up. I prefer not to add one more to it like a BH failing to open.

Not saying it will happen with but its something to think about. Muzzy's are open all the time and never have to move. They work if you place them right.

If we get together before season to shoot remind me and I'll get some out for you to try.

i have no idea with what broadheads im goin with yet.
im pulling 60
i was thinkin about gettin rage 2 expandable broadheads because they look amazing

If your pulling that weight rages should be good. A cut on contact is allways a safe bet but your bow has to be tunned well. I shoot 70 lbs on my selfbows (longbow) and use several BHs. But for my Compound I used muzzy 4 blade 100s. Its a tough BH and shoots great.

well i been shooting my bow i can get like inch sized groups at 35 yards so im doin pretty well i reckon

That will do. What broadheads are you going with? You may want to stick one on and try with the broadhead to make sure your flight is the same. And toward season practice more and more with them.

How much weight are you pulling anyway?
