I went the other night and the carp are up in the spillways. The wind was blowing pretty hard and had a hard time keeping the string on the drum. I shot 2 before the string got tangled up and I messed my drum up. Went home and got it fixed but the temperature drop the next day and there was nothing there. Temps are supposed to be up this week so maybe I will give them a try again. Does anybody else bow fish out there and have you been yet.? My son and I just started last year and had a ball.
I just got an H & R ultra slugger in 20 ga. Does anybody else out there shoot one? I sighted it in yesterday (1/21) and it is one sweet shooting gun. I'm shooting Hornady SST slugs in it with 4 shots within 2" at 50 yards. I am not the greatest shot in the world so I think that is good for me. I went with the 20 ga. to lighten up on recoil as I have had shoulder surgery. Can't wait to go on 1/26 to see if I can put a notch in the stock. Still keeping the 870 12 ga. with rifled barrel. Just want to hear from some other H & R ultra slugger shooters.
Just wondering if anybody is going to Harrisburg, Pa. for the sports show at the beginning of Feb.? I am planning on going but I will go during the week. I used to go on the weekend but after going during the week I will never go on a weekend again. The last couple of years I have purchased my tickets online and that is great to not having to stand in those long lines.
Made my first batch of goose jerky last night and it is really good. It didn't start out to good. My smoker shorted out when I plugged it in. I had to do it in the oven. It turned out good but I am going to tweak the recipe just a little. I didn't use liquid smoke in the recipe because I planned on doing it in the smoker. Has anyone else tried to make goose jerky?
