Yeah, I hear you on letting the little ones walk but it makes some years buckless that's for sure! I passed on several smaller bucks this past season & then never got a buck... I spent the peak of rut on a hunt over in Illinois which also limited my odds in Ohio... This season, I'm spending rut right here in Ohio. There's a few real bruiser bucks on the farm where I hunt & I want to get one this year!
I have found the best hunting from Nov. 1 to about the 12th do you see the same? I also have to narrow my time there this year what would you suggest in your State.

I hunt a little over 2 hours South of Columbus down in Brown County on a farm I used to work on when I was younger. A buddy of mine that lives in Cincinnati owns it and it's a real big farm with lots of Deer & Turkey, I just wish it was a little closer!
Your area is unbeliveable. I have never seen so many deer in my life. Up here if you get a deer you are doing pretty good. I get several but it only an obsession. I have yet to get any like the one you have on your picture. Nice going. Out of about 70 deer I have one hanging on the wall. I love to eat venison and do not have all the time in the world so I get what I can. It works for me. When I go to Ohio I let the little ones walk up to the last day.

It came from your neck of the woods! I hunt in the Newark area and plan to get out there this fall. When I saw that you were from Columbus I had to get you on my friends list. You'all are the nicest people I have ever met. I went to school in Columbus and very much enjoy going back out there to hunt and drop of fresh fish from the North East.
That buck was found just outside Columbus, Ohio Near Newark where I go hunting. The logger that found him said that he was the smaller one. There are some nice deer in that area and it looks like you have some pretty good hunting in your area.
