HELP!!!
Posted On: 05/12/2008 12:58:17
I am looking for a good compound bow. A little over 20 years ago I gave up hunting with the passing of my dad. The deer woods just wasn't the same without him there. Now 20 years later I have been blessed with children of my own. I was recently remembering all the good times my family had getting out in the woods and hunting and I suddenly felt very guilty for depriving my children of those same experiences. So after talking with my children I have begun taking the needed steps to get back out in the woods.

Like most folks nowadays, money is not laying around the house in any abundance. I am looking for good solid gear at a very generous price. My local church has a hunting and fishing ministry that I would also like to get the family involved in as well. So any help of advice anyone could offer up would be greatly appreciated.

First, let me welcome you back into the woods!!! I hope your kids will still show an interest in the outdoors to make some great memories with you. Regarding bows, I have the same type of issue you have...the desire for a good bow at a reasonable price. After researching a lot of bows under $500, I have decided on the Martin Bengal. It is a fast, quiet bow and affordable. It shoots like a top-line bow. PSE also makes a good bow around the same price.  Check your local pro shop (not box store) and they will point you in the right direction and let you shoot several models so you can decide which bow feels best.  Good luck!!!
