Bible Study Verse Psalm 19:1,12,13a The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. (TNIV)
Thoughts Hunters and fishermen enjoy the sunrise and the wildflowers. We hear turkeys gobble and peep frogs chirp. We feel the sting of snow against our faces and the swirl of water against our waders. The miracles that God has built into the fabric of the natural world too easily become routine for us; and so, the wonders that we see make it easy for us to forget that our world is broken. (SS)
Action Point As people who enjoy the outdoors and know its beauty, we must not lose sight of the fact that something is wrong with it. Just as we love to see the heavens declare the glory of God, we also need to remember that we are part of a broken and hurting world for which Christ is the answer. And we should ask God to communicate that answer through us.
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day Use your opportunities to enjoy the natural world that Christ created to restore your soul. Let your conversation be peppered with comments about God's glory in his creation. Look for opportunities to serve the broken and hurting people that live in it, in Jesus' name.
