Sorry I haven't been on in a while...

Sorry I haven't been on in a while guys. This last weekend Paul and his dad went to change the breaks on my truck cause they were sounding horrible. Mind you, Paul bought me the truck at the beginning of May and I have already had to change the spark plugs and boots and now it's the brakes. We went and got brake pads and headed back for them to start working on them. They got the brakes off and were checking the rotor and the bearings on the driver's side. They took off the rotor and noticed that it was ground down so far that I seriously needed another one. There goes another $60 bucks. So we go and get another one and my father in law bought me new bearings for both sides. We headed back so they could finish up. They got everything repacked and put back together and Paul tightend everything up and put my tire back on. He did the passenger brake pads and bearings. Put the tire back on and was done. My father in law asked one of his mechanic friends that live in the same apartment complex to look at the old rotor and brake pads. The brakes fell apart as soon as they removed the piece holding them on. They mechanic said that if we would have tried to drive home that more than likely the driver side front brakes would have locked up and spun the truck around and possible caused us to flip my truck. They shop we got the truck at, my ex-friend's husband works at and he gave me his word that he wouldn't have sold us a truck that would need work soon and that he didn't trust. Well, apparently he had been driving the truck after the shop was closed and power braking it ALOT! He sold me a truck that was WAY past due for new brakes. I am pissed. Well, on the way home from my father in laws, he lives right next to Tinker AFB, everything was fine. We stopped in Shawnee to get KFC for dinner and then headed home. We were past Meeker to the speedway and I heard a loud noise and then the tire started wobbling. I pulled over and Paul jacked up the truck and looked at it. He couldn't see anything wrong with the tire (driver side, the one we had to get the new rotor for) and so he put the tire back on and tried to drive a little farther. We didn't go a half a block and he saw that the tire was wobbling really bad so wee called AAA to have them tow us home. It took a while for the tow truck to get there and Paul was feeling really bad and we were both extremely stressed out. We got the truck home and he said he would take it off again in the morning and see what was wrong. He called his dad Sunday morning and brought down all the tools they had used before and got to work. A few hours later, while I was painting Damien's room, Paul comes in and tells me that the bearings had gotten so hot that they had fused themselves to the rotor. Our neightbor that lives a couple of houses up came down to help remove the bearings. He told Paul that the problem was that the bolt had gotten tightend too tight and that is what caused the problem. So the got the bearings out and filed down the ones that were fused to the rotor. They put everything back and tightend things down the way they are supposed to be and took it for a test drive. It was still making a funny noise. My father in law said it was probably too loose from them having to file down the inside of the rotor because of them haveing to file down the bearings. He told Paul that on Saturday he was going to buy a new rotor and come down and replace it while Paul is at work. We are both so grateful for my father in law. I dunno what I would do without him. So that is what has been going on the has caused me not to be on in a while. I will post more later after he replaces the rotor. FINGERS CROSSED that is the problem. More later.....

Make sure that you don't have a loose tie rod also ...... sometimes that causes the tire to wobble also.

Thanks for the info. I will make sure to have them check it.
