HEY ALL, I AM TAKING MID TOUR LEAVE FROM IRAQ IN NOVEMBER. THE WIFE DECIDED SHE WANTS TO TAKE A LITTLE FAMILY VACATION OUT TOWARDS GATLINBURG WHILE I AM HOME. I AM LOOKING AT THE WEEKEND AFTER THE 15TH. I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS ONE DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A GOOD CHEAP PLACE TO STAY, UP TO GIVE OR TAKE 125 A NIGHT. AND THE SECOND THING IS DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY LAND I CAN HUNT OVER THAT WAY. I AM IN THE ARMY AND ONLY HOME FOR TWO SHORT WEEKS BEFORE I COME BACK TO IRAQ. I FIGURE I WOULD TRY AND MAKE THE BEST OF THE TIME OVER THERE AS I CAN. I HEAR THERE IS A LOT OF BEARS THAT WAY. PLEASE ANYBODY WITH ANY INPUT ON EITHER ONE GET BACK TO ME. SFC HOMER

So here I am in Iraq, minding my own business when I get word that another one of my good friends has been blowwn up, along with his entire team, damn IEDS. I went to his memorial service they had for him over here. That was kind of nice but I would rather it not have had happened. He was stationed in Alaska and they had some really cool pictures of him up there hunting and fishing. I think I may try and go there next I am not real sure yet. I have been in the army for fourteen years and it seems like every time I turn around something else is happening. On a better note I ordered a new Hoyt bow the other day from a guy in Oregon. So when I get home on leave in November I am going to have to set that up and hopefully get some hunting in with it, we will see how that turns out. I couldnt have asked for a better deal, his wife won it in a raffle and it has never had an arrow shot off it. I picked that baby up for 450. I cant wait to get home in November and spend some time in the woods. I have to take a minute to thank buckmasters, Archers Choice, Mark and Terry Drury for the DVD's they have sent. I still havent received the ones from archers choice but they are supposed to be in the mail. Regardless thanks to all those companies for sending a Soldier some DVD's of some great hunting action to hand out to the guys over here. I am pretty disappointed in Bill Jordan and Real Tree I have emailed them and phoned them in regards to them sending some DVD's to Soldiers in our unit that hunt and will be stuck here durnig hunting season and they have yet to get back to me. I figured a huge company like that could hook some of our guys up, but nope. Michael Waddell might be losing a fan over this one. anyways I guess that is enough rambling for now. I would love to hear from anyone that has any kind of hunting land I may be able to use at some during my cross country military career, you never know when I might be stationed near you. I am at Ft Campbell when I am not in Iraq. OK if I havent bored you by now I am sure its coming soon. Guess I will post more later, for all of in the early season I am jealous....
