I just bought a guitar with hopes to learn how to play. I know a guy that has played since the 60's. He's showing me some things. I've got a DVD and of course the internet. Lots of info out there. Most of it confusing to me at this point but its fun. I've picked up a few things already in the week I've had it. My guitar is a Fat Strat. My freind says it sounds just like his so I guess I did good on my first guitar. I got a deal I couldn't pass up. Its new and I got an amp and all that I needed. Anyway who else plays. I'm liking it so far. What tips do you have for me? good websites? Thanks, Jason Lester

I just recently bought and put out my very first game camera. Its a Moultrie Gamewatcher 4.0. It has video capability and switches to pictures at night or pictures all the time. When I put it out I couldn't wait to go get the memory card out of it to see what pictures and video it took. To my supprize I got 70 events over the week or so it was out. I swaped the card and reset the events and left it where it was. Since I have looked at the pics I realize I need to move the camera a little because the sun eithr tripped the camera some or washed out some of the pics and video. Either way I'll move it to hopefully make it better. Anyway I did get some cool video and thought I'd share. The pics were OK but seem to be low res. I'll fix that next time I swap cards. So here is the link to my photobucket. A couple of these look to me still carrying fawns. Seems a bit late but they realy look big. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v357/JasonLester/Trailcam/Let me know what you think.

Anyone had one of these or shot one. I just picked one up from Bass Pro. Nice compact 40 SW pistol. Shoots well too. I wanted a concealed carry gun and this was the size I was looking at and the price was nice too. Under 400 for the pistol and 2 mags.

The saying holds true for me this weekend. Or more acurately for the last couple weeks. We have 3 vehicles that are our primary diving vehicles. One mostly sits and is used occationaly (alot in the summer for pulling the camper, boat) Anyway with 5 kids we need bigger vehicles obviously. We my wife drives a 1998 Grand Caravan. The car I was talking about about above is a 02 GMC Yukon XL. And my daily driver is a 1989 Dodge Dakota. Nothing special or fancy, just A to B kind of things for our daily grind.
The Yukon is our nice vehicle. It hasn't been running right for months. I was told by the dealership it needed and intake gasket, $500. Well I hate spending money on something I can do myself. Especialy when the part cost $35. So I buy the part and tear into it. I end up replacing another 100 dollars worth of parts while I'm at it. Still it wasn't right. Another 150 in wire, plugs, and a coil pack, and still nothing. Well I think I've figured out what it was and now for less than they would have done the $35 dollar gasket I have alot of stuff I needed to do done and I have a good idea what the real problem is (fuel injector) So I still have to get it
.
So I'm driving to work during the whole Yukon ordeal. And I get a flat on my daily driver vehicle (89 dakota) So I pull over and take the tire off only to find the spare doesn't fit. I'm talking won't even go on at all. I end up getting a ride on into work and spend half the day getting 2 tires put on. this truck has 240k on it so I don't spend a whole lot on it. It has had a few issues as of late but nothing realy more than anoyances.
Then there is my wifes caravan. She went out of town a couple weeks ago. So before she went I decided to put wheel bearings on it as her car has 180k on it. I get everything apart and find she needs rotors and pads. I head to the parts place and pick them up and head back and then notice a bulging break line. So back to the arts place. I got it all back together and she went on her trip. Fast forwart to saturday night. The trip had went fine. We were out late visiting friend 25 minutes or so away from the house. Afterwards I decided to go to walmart to pick up a couple things for her car (oil additive, belt dressing) I put the oil stuff in and spray a little belt dressing on the bet untll I can get around to changing it. Then POW....the serpintine (sp?) breaks right in front of my eyes. So I call to get someone to pick us up. Now picture my wife and I and all but one of our kids (my boy was with is mamaw.) 2-14 month olds, my wife, my older daughters, and I sitting in Walmart parking lot at something like 2 am. LOL It was kind of funny. I spend yesterday getting a friend to tow it and got all new belts for it and got them on.
Sorry for the long post. I just had to vent a little. All in all it wasn't to bad since I do the work myself. But when your not planning on it, it does get a bit frustraiting.
Anyway could have been much worse.

Ok Ladies here is a question for you all. My wife doesn't get into hunting. She barely cares for fishing or outdoors stuff in general. I hate this because I love to spend time with her and our kids. However, I like doing my things some too. I feel guilty if I spend to much time hunting or fishing. So I end up doing less of these things. Now thats OK but it would be nice to be able to someday share some of what I love about being outdoors with her. To her credit she does camp some (in a camper) and fishes some too. In fact we went to Alaska a couple years ago, she realy didn't want to go, and now all she talks about is going back. So it seems to me there is some hope for me there. I know with the kids there isn't alot of time for these things but I hope in the distant future when we have more time she'd want to join me some. So my question is what should I do to try to include her more? What things got you all into the outdoors? Do you think I even have a chance at getting here to like it more? LOL I'm don't care for her to hunt realy just to be more excited for me and want to do these things with me instead of just sitting inside (which bores me to tears) ok tell me what you think.

I figured I'd go ahead and write one of these. Seems everyone has one so I might as well too. Since this is Camospace I'll start with hunting related stuff. I am a bowhunter. I love archery. I hunt with traditional gear mostly because I make my own gear. I have made several bows. My current hunting bow is a Osage Orange selfbow. Selfbow means it has no backing such as fiberglass, wood, or anything else that would keep the bow from breaking. (Just in case you didn't know that) So basicaly all wood. My hunting arrows this year were river cane with turkey feathers and obsidian heads I knapped myself. I made my string and my quiver as well. Basicaly if I can make it I try it. That being said I had only 3 deer in bow range this year (realy odd for me) I was not bowhunting my daughter was hunting with a Muzzle loader. We had a nice buck and 2 does realy close and she was ready. Unfortunatly, she couldn't get the safety off. I did however take a nice buck with a shotgun. 20 inch inside spread. I'm pretty happy about it even though it was with a gun. That would have been great to take it with a gun or for my daughter to get it. But thats not how it played out. Well I'll stop blabbing on... at least for now.
