My girl was taken from me on tuesday, 11-6-07 by someone in a pickup truck in front of my home in Laurel, DE. If you know me, then you know my dogs mean more to me than most people do. While, I can't be angry at the guy driving the truck - she shouldn't have run into the road - but he never even slowed down. He just kept on going like nothing happened. He had to have seen her coming, I live more than 100 ft off the road. I let her and the puppy out of the kennel to feed them and they took off just like usual. I own 10 acres and they always ran around my field and into the woods. For some reason, even though they had never done it before, they chased each other into the road just as the pickup came by. Now Lucie is dead and my puppy had to have her leg amputated. This guy didn't even have the decency to slow down, stop, or anything. What's worse is that the girl behind him stopped to tell me he pulled out from a house down the road. That means this guy could be my neighbor. What kind of world has this become when a neighbor would do something like this and not even acknowledge it? Again, they should never had gone into the road, but a little humanity is all I ask for.
