NEWS RELEASE

CCRKBA CALLS ON OBAMA TO REPUDIATE, REJECT BRADY CAMPAIGN ENDORSEMENT

BELLEVUE, WA – If Democrat Barack Obama truly supports gun rights and the Second Amendment, he should immediately repudiate and reject today’s endorsement by the anti-gun Brady Campaign, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

“By accepting an endorsement from the nation’s leading gun ban organization,” said CCRKBA Legislative Affairs Director Joe Waldron, “Barack Obama would be declaring to every gun owner in America that he has lied to them all these months during the presidential campaign. If he accepts this endorsement, Obama may as well spit on the Second Amendment.”

The Brady Campaign announced its endorsement Monday by noting that Obama and his running mate, anti-gun Sen. Joe Biden from Delaware, will “strengthen” the Brady Law, and would once again outlaw commonly-owned semi-automatic sport/utility rifles.

“The Brady Campaign wants to completely eliminate certain types of firearms,” Waldron noted, “which is precisely the kind of thing that was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court’s Heller decision in June. They claim that Barack Obama is the man who can get that done. This is hardly the kind of endorsement that will earn points among target shooters, hunters and gun collectors, who have harmed nobody and broken no laws.

“But the Brady Campaign would make these people criminals on paper simply because they own certain types of firearms,” he added. “Their endorsement of the Obama/Biden ticket to accomplish that goal is tantamount to a home invasion robbery of every gun owner in the United States.

“If Barack Obama thinks gun owners should give him their votes after this endorsement, it is an insult to their intelligence,” Waldron observed. “That seems to be nothing new, however, after he’s had one so-called hunter’s and shooter’s group shilling for him on the campaign trail, to say nothing of his selection of Joe Biden as his running mate.

“Obama should tell the Brady Campaign to get lost, or gun owners will say that loud and clear to him on Nov. 4,” Waldron concluded.

With all eyes on the pending election, it seems that everyone including the family dog has an opinion on who should be our next sitting President. Like another other American, I have my opinioin as well, I have tried to keep an open mind on the issues like the economy, energy, and healthcare. But there is one issue that is close to my heart and for very good reasons. That is our 2nd Amendment and our right as American's to bear arms.

Up until this year I have kept a pretty low profile on my view of politics, but with the real threat of losing my guns and more importantly my right to bear arms I, like many of you, have taken a serious look at politics. Unfortunately, the choices, in my opinion are not ideal.

I encourage all camospace.com members to take a look at the hard hitting facts when it comes to this particular issue. See for yourself at GunBanObama.com

I am Hoosier Huntress and I approve this message (ok that was just for fun, because this political stuff is scary)

Can anyone offer a Web site or info on this magazine called Whitetail Times? I have seen a copy of it some time ago but can not find any info on the Web about it. If anyone subscribes or has info would you kindly contact me. I think this magazine is primarily in the southeast but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.

NATIONAL FISHING ANDHUNTING DAY

SEPT. 27
Be sure and check your area regulations and take someone new and introduce them to the waters and woods this weekend. It is our responsibility to introduce new people to our passion. Stay safe and have fun! It is much better to give than to receive, and giving the "gift" of outdoor recreation is wonderful.

Getting kids involved in the hunting and shooting sports is a life-long passion of mine, not just because I like to hunt and I hope that my kids will share in my obession. No there is more to it than that. Promoting youth in hunting helps ensure the future for all of us that like to hunt and fish.

Stop and think about the number of kids that may never have the chance to get outdoors and experience God's wonderful gifts that He has given us. How many people never see a sunrise or  have heard an elk bugle or a turkey gobble, too many in my opinion.

This weekend marks YOUTH season here in Indiana and you can bet my kids will be out in the woods. How about yours? Life is crazy, I know. But if adults don't step up to the plate and make a commitment to help introduce a newcomer, whether it be a child, woman or even a man to traditional outdoor recreation, than we stand a strong chance of losing our rights to hunt.

As an avid hunter, wife and mother, I would like to challenge everyone on Camospace.com to take a someone hunting this fall. As an outdoor writer I want to hear your stories, the successes, the failures, the tips and tactics you will use and more importantly I want to hear why you stepped up to the plate and took someone hunting this fall.

Good luck and stay safe and most importantly PASS IT ON!
