He’s the man that yelled “atta girl” when I caught my first fish
And after every burnt dinner I cooked he’d clean his plate and say it was delish
And what I’d wouldn’t give to be singin country songs with him in that old pick-up
But his little country girl grew up
I dated those wild rednecks he warned me about
And learned a lot from them no doubt
He just shook his head when I brought home that truck that I wrecked
And said “Damn Girl What the Heck?”
He wanted to kill those boys that said no girl would jump off that 50 foot bridge
But they didn’t know my daddy didn’t raise no wimpy girl with no courage
He hung deer head on our walls
Hardly ever takin me to the mall
I let him down that night I went to jail
He was just happy he didn’t have to pay bail
After a long ass day at work
He’d come and was the complete opposite of a jerk
I love that man that knows when to hold me close and when to give me space
The man that’s stayed up with me late after every heartbreak
We’re like peas and carrots me and him
And the chances of me finding one like him is slim
I’m proud to say I’m a Daddy’s Girl through and through
I'm Diana. I'm as stubborn as my daddy and a huge smartass. I love the way my dad smells when he's getting ready to go out. I drive my truck a little too fast and crazy.I cuss and eat probably a little more then I should. I hope when I get older I can be as beautiful as my mom. I hate being told what to do or that i can't do something. I was taught if you want something bad enough give everything you go to get it. I'm a hardcore Daddy's girl (don't know where i'd be without him). Nothings like sitting barefoot at a picnic table with your friends and family eatting Crabs, Corn, and Beer! When I die lord, make me into a Cowboy's saddle so i can forever be between my two favorite things your most beautiful creature a horse and a cute cowboy butt in wrangler jeans. Amen
