I guess I will get my stuff together in the next week or so. I went through my deeks one last time and checked on my mojo. Buddy just landed a 16' jon boat with a trolling motor and trailer for $500 thats gonna take some work to get going before October. I will be giving you a call before to long so I can run that duck out to ya and make sure you got a good spot to hunt this season.
Holly is all water hunting. Its public but we normally get out early enough to get a good spot. As far as fields near you, there are a bunch but its getting permission to hunt them. Its not like up north. People down here get crazy about hunters being on their land. There is a public spot in Lapeer but its not the best. A few small ponds that are on public land in Lapeer to but they are only good for a few woodies at the start of the season and after the first week or so there are no ducks. Holly produces ducks all year long. We also have a small field we can hunt near holly but its really small and we have never taken any geese out of there.
Been super busy all summer. Season is nearly here and I havn't even scouted yet, of course we hunt nearly two hours away so that don't really help. We are not going to be going all out this year with hunting as one bud has already moved out of state and I have taken a promotion at work that may tie me up a little more. We are still gonna get out just not as much as we would like. You are more than welcome to join us for both goose and duck. We hunt ducks over in Holly and geese in Sanilac County near Carsonville. Holly is a small drive, but realistically you could meat with me near Clarkston and I will finish the drive from there. As for goose season, I dont know how much we are going to make it up north but when we do I will let you know. It may be short notice though.
hey, man, are you gettin jacked up too? dove season sept 1st, then geese on the 6th. got em all staked out, hundred or so 3 miles from here on private land. how bout you?
Sounds good. Hopefully if everything goes good for me in June I'll call ya and run that duck up to ya. Your only a 10 minute drive from me. Maybe I can fill ya in on some spots for next season.
Hope the move is going good. Of course as everyone else has said I heard about the DHC incident. Its crap, and its time they grew up a little around there.
HEY,i was reading that you got booted from dhc. i got booted for 2 weeks from the pile, then i quit, asked them to remove my membership. 5 members followed me outright, and another 4 just quit postin. it gets so a guy cant say anything that may offend someone. i say that if weve gotta be all PC, i would just as soon do something else. thats why i am here. good to run into ya.
