ya i have had a little luck i have 9 sheds for the year but only 2 fresh ones. the place i find my sheds is closed till march 15. last weekend i found an area with alot of deer and no human sign so on sat im headed there. the places that you can go here is full of other people so i try to stay away from those places. oh ya congrats on the elk sheds i sure wish i could find a few of those just cant figure them out around here. i think people push them around so much here they never stay in one place long enough. good luck sheddin.
no this year blows, theres only a couple of inches snow, and the deer are really spread out and move around alot. last year we had like two feet of snow and the deer were in heards and the stayed pretty much in the same spot. all the spots i went last year have no deer this year
yep same thing here. most of the deer around here still have there antlers. only seen a few small bucks with 1 antler but i did see a buck pushing 40 inches last weekend. i will be keeping my eye on him. good luck this year.
hey, have you been out lookin for sheds yet? my family lives near mcminville,i'm going to visit them soon and wnted to find some black tail sheds
I went out last week one day for a walkabout, but found nothing. My trailcams are loaded with nice bucks all packing their antlers. Going out tomorrow with a friend to either hike for a shed or try and call a lion in.
I've heard of a couple fresh sheds found around Christmas down toward the coast. My buddy saw a buck with one horn yesterday near John Day. So it won't be long.
I have a friend that teaches middle school in McMinnville.
Hey, thanks for the response. I have been there once before in 1992 and we are gonna try it again, leaving sw washington on the 10th and we will be there until the 18th or so. We are going to head towards pierce weippe area out of orofino, but are totally open to ideas. We are responsible atv'rs that want to have a good time over there and throw some money into the economy. We are looking for decent whitetailed bucks. Not worried about booners but it would be cool. We just enjoy the hunt. We usuall fly into the middle fork salmon but it has been pretty sad in there since 2005. I am not seeking someones secret honey hole, just some sound advice so we can have a great time and hopefully be successful. Thank you for your response.
Hey Snuffe...Howdy from Wallace. Thanks for the friend request. Good to see some more Idaho folks here. Looks like if it is huntable you hunt it! I too love to shed hunt and get out as often as I can. Stop by any time.
