Spring tip: Make the lead hen fight you in your calls and she will come after you. The gobbler will chase the lead hen and that is how you get them henned up gobblers to come out and play :)
Yep I have a story with that buck. I had to work hard for him. I was actually headed into hunt a stand that morning and stopped at the top of the hill where you can overlook a portion of the lease. I glanced over with my binoculars and seen him. Needless to say I had to figure out a way to get to him. So I hit the ground and crawled and stalked him for what seemed like miles to a place where I thought I could get a good shot.I seen he was actually getting ready to bed down for the day, so I had to make a decision quick. I felt comfortable with about a 160 yd shot and pulled the trigger. Needless to say it was quite an adrenaline rush. I was tickled to death to take him.He ended up being a 4.5 yr old buck.
