Turkey season is among us in Maryland. Remember to stay quiet, don't move and cover up.

Spring tip: Make the lead hen fight you in your calls and she will come after you. The gobbler will chase the lead hen and that is how you get them henned up gobblers to come out and play :)

Have fun and send post up some good pics.

Hey bud, I see you are on. Wanna hit the chat room? I'm bored, like real bored..haha

Hunter
sorry i missed ya, man. went fishing tonight on open water for the first time this year,on the lower vermillion. no luck, but it was nice fishin when i coulc just pick up my stuff and head for the truck and not worry about packin up the fish house and auger and camera and all that crap with frozen hands. you gotta get out of the house. go shed hunting, or fishin, or get a bow and start hitting the local shops and archery 3-d tournaments. those are the things that get me by in between duck seasons. also, i have turkey opener coming up in 3 weeks. sittin on the computer is fine, but ya gotta get out and get active so there is more stories to share. while waterfowling is and always will be my premiere activity, i sure can almost enjoy the offseason by gettin out and doin stuff. go knock on doors, askin for permission to a new duck swamp. build some nesting boxes and platforms. train your dog and join a kennel club. now get out there and make some memories, and report back on em. have a good one, man.

is that a golden retriver you have there? i have one, named Duke. he is my duck and pheasent dog. im still trainin him. he does alright. they sure are happy and laid back, arent they? i think that they are the stoner breed of dog.

Lol- no I haven't figured out the whole top friends think yet. Still learning the site. Every time I add someone they go to the top of the list. I'll get it fixed sometime soon.

Yup- the weather has been really weird for this time of the year. I got snowed in, so no classes and no work. I would be happy about it, but I haven't worked or had classes since Thursday and I'm getting a little cabin feverish here...just texted a hunting buddy of mine who also didn't go to work. He's out snow goose hunting and he didn't take me with.

I rent a farmhouse- the landlord owns like 4 different farms. In the lease he grants his tenants hunting rights to all of his land- which is almost 1,000 acres, so I do quite a bit of private land hunting. Some public, but not so much since this past early canada goose season when I got shot at...actually they were shooting at my decoys, but I was about 1.5 feet away from the decoys on the shore- which were the ones they were shooting at. It is hard especially for out of staters to get permission for private land. Pheasant season is absolutely nuts here!! You'd probably have better luck in SD as far as pheasant hunting goes, but Nebraska isn't too bad for pheasants either.

Well, picky on calling might equal better luck on a hunt, so be picky!! I'm origionally from Nebraska- my family lives there. I'm here in SD going to college. I was going to move back to Nebraska, but you can't beat the hunting up here, so I'm staying.

Lol. No pun intended. Lol. I've got a few Heartland calls. My favorite by far is my Knight & Hale Bachelorette. Not too expensive, but great on sound. You're lucky you get to hunt with your dad. Neither of my parents hunt...nor anyone in my family. I think I was adopted.

Thanks for the friends request, I Happily accepted. I am glad there is a girl that hunts waterfowl. I mean that is few and far between by me in my state. Do you hunt by yourself or do some other people tag along. Waterfowling is my main passion.

Thanks for the add! I love to meet with fellow waterfowlers. It is quite an addiction, huh?! I hunt by myself sometimes (with my dog of course), but I've got a group of buddies that I hunt with. Most of them are my co-workers. They're a goofy bunch to say the least.
