WEll, If I did not know any better I would say that turkey hunting is the easiest thing on earth. For years everyone has told me that turkey hunting was more fun than deer hunting.Well I finally am trying it and after my experience yesterday they were right. For all you more experienced hunters this story may seem a little silly or may even bring back memories. Saturday was Maine youth turkey hunting day and it was a good one. Our deer guide, Richard Gurney took his 11 year old daughter Andrea out hunting. This was Andrea's second year hunting. She took a jake last year. They spotted him and decided to stalk him. After crawling to a spot 40 yards out, Andrea dropped him- a good shot but he lost part of a spur. Stats for this huge tom are: 24.6lbs, 9.5" beard, Spurs 1.5 and 7/8. This puts him 4th in the state by weight. check out the pictu... Read More
