Well things picked up this weekend. Friday afternoon I was settled in by 1 PM, 2 large fawns came bounding in, spooked out by a gas well maintenance crew. Almost shot one thinking it was the adult doe, they were rather large, but I ended up passing on them. 3.5 hours later a real nice 2.5 year old buck emerged from the thicket about 35 yds away and proceeded to thrash a tree and head on his way. The rugrats decided to be our taste testers to make sure it was ok to eat. Before we took off for the evening hunts, Brad decided he wanted to stay back and cook dinner for everyone. Here is how Brad lights a fire!! The last thing I heard was "Hold my beer and watch this" The result (notice how quick he di... Read More
Well it's always great to end a short road trip with this in front of you letting you know that you have reached a hunter's paradise. It didn't take long for the girls to meet up once again and let the game of "tag" begin to take place around the ranch. Oh yeah, I forgot I was supposed to be here on official business until I seen this thing taking up my parking spot. Well once I put my things inside the mansion, I came outside to find the guys watching Outd... Read More
