The game Commission recently finalized the purchase of about 6500 acres here in Elk County. Much of that land had been closed to public hunting for many years due to be part of a hunting lease. That land had been, and still is, bordered with “No Trespassing” signs.

Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania Senates' game and Fish Committee held the first of several hearings on increasing hunting license fees.

The Pennsylvania game Commission has not had a license increase in nearly ten years. The last in 1999. Currently the base license that includes:

Small game
Upland Game
Fall and Spring Turkey stamps
One antlered deer tag

Costs $19 with a $1 processing fee for a resident adult license.
