Well I made it out to the stand finally tonight. In my last blog I was talking about the "SOLUNAR TABLES" and if they work. Tonight the table said that the "minor" activity was going to be around 5-5:30 and the "major" activity was going to be around 10:30-11pm.

I made it to the satnd at 4:30pm and by 6, I hadn't seen one deer! All night was like that and I figured it might be nice hunting because of the weather change we had here in WI.

Earlier I posted a poll asking if "SOLUNAR TABLES" actually work. I got some pretty good response's to the poll, but a poll is just that.

I have a SOLUNAR TABLE in fornt of me now and it say's that the minor action for my location, is around 5-5:30pm, and the major activity is around 10:30-11pm. I am going to be in the stand at 4-4:30pm tonight, yeah it's a little late, but I have to pick the wife up.

My son David has been in stand with me in the past but has never actually hunted until this weekend. And it started out with a ton of action. Shortly after getting into our buddy ladder stand, a doe comes walking out of the cornfield about 100 yards away and slowly begins her meandering walk down a two track that skirts the woods we are sitting in. This went on from just after shooting light til about 8 am. Always just outside of my sons self imposed shooting range.

Well, deer season is open here in Kansas.  rackhunter78 and bucknrut007 and I went out Saturday morning.  They got to watch a crazed doe run around like she was in heat.  I saw quite a few deer and took out a doe that was 15 yards away.  I don't know if you have heard about slick trick broadheads but they really do a job on deer.  She went maybe 50 yards before she fell over.  Look on rackhunter78's page for the picture of us hauling the deer on top of his taho... Here is the video to go along with our 9-21-08 hunt where Prostaffer Cory McBride misses a doe at 40 yards, but then redeems himself as he and I both kill a coyote with our bows.
