Opening day is always good. This year was unique as I hunted alone with little fanfare. But I enjoy hunting by myself – really makes me connect with everything at a whole different level. I just got back from bowhunting Saturday at my cabin. My morning stand was interrupted by bear dogs, doing there thing. The dogs were just on the other side of a hill, having a good time chasing that black bear but my only chance was if they chased a deer into me. That didn't happen.
