Here are pictures of my first Montana Mule Deer, it's a 5 by 5 and you will notice that he had just started to shed the velvet from his antlers. I shot him at 60 yards - I don't normally shoot that far, good thing I was practicing at 50 yards during lunch, back at camp. Went out to the old family farm this evening for a bow hunt. I have only hunted this piece of property once since I was five. For those with curious minds that means I have hunted in once in the last 33 years, yikes. My wife and I went out on Sunday evening and hung a stand. Well I'm a little busier than expected, so I will summarize my hunts a week at a time. It'll probably help keep them from being too boring too. Last week was filled with reluctant anticipation. Virginia archery season 08' starts in several hours and I am at work. I'm really not sure how much I will be able to hunt this archery season as I still have some work to do around the house and have to get my muzzleloader sighted in. Changing the scope and ammo was a bad idea. I have been to the range several times and still am not happy with any of the new bullets. I have two more to try.
