An event we look forward to every year, the Serve Outdoors deer hunt at Canyon Lake, Tx., was suddenly upon us. I left home early last Friday morning and headed for the hill country. Since we were going to be hunting that afternoon, I needed to get there before the other hunters started to show up. So, deer season has been pretty slow so far.  I've seen a ton of deer, but no mature bucks.  I've been hunting our gun season with bow in hand, but no luck. (not because of the weapon.  October 11th I killed a nice doe with my Black Widow recurve.  I've been trying with my Athens Accomplice ever since, but I've literally only seen young bucks since the 11th.  It's been fun, but crazy.  I just hope to connect with my Athens before season ends....
