I had a great 1st trip out for our bow season opener on Saturday evening. Saw a pretty nice buck about 500 yards away but he was working/feeding away from me then 3 bucks start fighting & sparring down in a little hollow/thicket right over the hill behind me. I eventually saw them working my way & could see 2 were smaller 6 points & one was a basket rack 8 point that just kept coming right into me! Considering that I hadn’t taken a racked buck since my nice 10 point in 2003 & my bow hunting rule has always been, 8 points or better and the arrow flies! I just could pass up on taking him! He only ran 60 yards after the shot & right on the edge of a grass field where I could drive right to him! LOL!!!

Most visitors spend there time in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and some never even enter the park. For me I don't enjoy the tourist traps but to each his own. If you do make it here try to see the Joyce Kilmer Area. Its a days drive from Gatlinburg and it was never logged. It's awesome!!

Hello in Sturgis. I lived in Bowling Green a long time ago but my parents moved us to Tennessee when I was a little feller. I've been here in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains ever since.
