I enjoy hunting, fishing and just about anything else that I can do in the great outdoors. I grew up hunting and fishing in Western Colorado, it's a way of life for me. Last fall I had the pleasure of taking my oldest son hunting on the family ranch to harvest his first buck. I will never forget the look on his face. Perfect shot, double lung, with my 270. It is an experience I will never forget. Who says Dad has to be the one to take the kids hunting? Mom's are cool too!! All my boys love hunting and fishing. They all shoot recurves and while their only harvests to date are squirrels and rabbits, they are well on their way. We also have a family cabin in the middle of nowhere. We call it "God's Country". I cherish the times I get to spend there, enjoying the beautiful mountains and the pure quiet. It's like stepping back in time. My background picture is the view looking off the front porch of the cabin. We are so blessed to have it. Occassionally I get the opportunity to help out with Silver Spur Outfitters, owned by Trent and Cheryl(my lil sis) Snyder. They have a great outfit and we have a lot of fun.

I sit on the couch, eatting bon bons and watch Oprah and soaps all day long, I just can't get enough. LOL!!!!! I rarely watch tv, too many better things to do. I'd rather be outside working, I can't sit still for long. I will watch occassional hunting shows. I also watch the military channel, history and TLC with the boys.
Check out my husband's deerdrag!! This is a review from bowhunting.com.
Pause my music above before you play it.

My heroes are those people who wear the uniform and sacrifice everyday to ensure the privledges that we enjoy and many times take for granted. Never forget those who sacrificed everything.

I also consider the everyday average Joe who stands up and fights for what he believes in to be my hero. Too many people sit back and take what is given to them. You've got to take a stand on the important things in life. Never back down.

I am a Colorado native and grew up hunting and guiding on our family ranch. I also spent a lot of the summers in at our family cabin with my grand parents. My grandpa taught me how to fly fish when I was about 6. I went to college out of H.S. and then served for five years in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a heavy equipment operator. I am very proud to have served in the military. We worked hard and played harder. Ask anybody about a Seabee and they will tell you that we're a crazy bunch! I now work as an RN and love it, but miss working outside. I have been married for thirteen years and have three wonderful boys. I think God blessed me with boys because I was such a tomboy and could relate to the male species so well! They are my pride and joy. They all love being outside, it doesn't matter if they are hunting, fishing, riding ATV's or just playing in the dirt. Mom has kind of been left out in the area of hunting since I had my kids, but now they are old enough that we can all enjoy it together. I can't wait to get back out there. I took my oldest son to harvest his first buck last year, what great memories. Hopefully we'll both drop one in its tracks this year. Happy hunting to all!!

How was you 2nd season hunt this year. We did fairly well even though it was very dry and warm. I ended up with a nice 4X4 buck and filled my cow elk tag. It is worth the 18 hour drive to colorado every year.
Sounds like you had a good trip and filled the freezer! My son and I didn't fair too well. It was so hot and we were hunting at 6500-8000 feet, public land. We saw one very small 4 point bull on public, I guess we should have shot it! All the other elk we saw were on private. But we sure had a good time!

Well we sure doappreciate it. That's the hardest thing is getting the word out. Glad hunting is going good. I'm bummed its all over for me(elk) and I wasn't able to get a buck license. I've really got to think about hunting elsewhere. My youngest boy wants to start hunting birds. I guess I better get the shotgun out and start practicing! I'm not used to such small targets!

I'm OK. You? I've been busy lately, not on CS much. How's the hunting going? Are the pics posted? I'll have to go check it out. Glad you guys like it, we just have to get it out there. Rodger's selling quite a few at hunting camp.

I am going pheasant hunting next week and it is a blast! But bring the gang and shoot some whitetails!
We would love to. Have to see what's going on when Rodger gets back from hunting camp, probably mid-Nov. I really need to shoot something!!
yes I have talked to him about it! Want to hunt with him next year!
We would love to have you come out! It would be so nice to meet the people I've been chatting with, at least some of them!!!!LOL Others I might be scared to meet. We have to make some plans.
Sounds good to me!
