Hunting, Fishing, Photography, and Videography. I have been producing "Open Season" for the last 2 years and now I am anxiously awaiting the show debut in July! FINALLY!
A guy goes hunting and gets lost in the woods. Remembering the universal distress signal of 3 shots, he fires 3 shots into the air and waits. After an hour he fires 3 more shots. Another hour goes by and still no one comes to help. Preparing for the next sequence he says to himself, “I hope somebody comes this time because these are my last three arrows.”
Top five signs you have hired the wrong hunting guide:
5. Your guide blows into big sea shell horn to attract game and a bunch of Vikings show up instead.
4. Your guide is completely outfitted with "Barney" camping equipment.
3. As you close in on a deer, your guide whispers in an Elmer Fudd voice, "Be vehhwey vehhwey quiet."
2. He calls trees by their first names.
And the number one sign you have hired the wrong hunting guide:
1. He is prone to scream, "Run, Bambi, RUN!"
Hope you had a great weekend! Jeannie got her first deer of bow season on opening day! How cool is that? We hope your hunting season is just a great as ours!! We hope to have some more stories and some pictures this week! Happy Hunting!!
Hey,
Just dropped in to say, there are a few whiteoaks dropping acorns, and the deer (buck) sign is unreal around them, you can tell the deer really missed them last year, cause of the ice storm.
I do have a few small places to hunt hogs around here, too if you're ever close by. I've got about 40 I see every morning behind the factory I work at but the farmer doesn't return my calls. No one hunts it at all. Two days ago there were about 75...a number of them pushing 300+ lbs. It's driving me crazy.
I work part time as a freelance outdoor writer so if we did get together for a hunt it'd be fun to write it up...good way to capture a memory. I hope at some point to do it full time.
I did just get invited by a small company looking to grow called Valkyrie Industries as Pro Staff. They make cable slides and stabilizers. Supposed to be getting some soon. Also hoping to get the new Hawglite soon.
Kind of cool between the writing and the hunting how everything just sort of falls into place if you live a life of expectancy.
Sorry to ramble. Give me a call whenever your heading this direction. Keep in touch and visit the site if you'd like (not a prerequisite to hunting with me). I'm hoping to stick another one this weekend depending on what happens with Ike.
Yeah, we just picked up Bowtech a few months ago and the bear was the first thing I have ever killed with it. I can't wait to ry it out on a whitetail or somethin large! Where are you in Texas? I hunt there at least 1 time a year on my travels.
thanks
Tommy

Is that your Bowtech General? I shoot a Diamond Black Ice and love it. I call it "The Mistress". When I'm not with the family I want to be with her. I also bowhunt hogs quite a bit over here in Texas. I love hunting them as much if not more than I love hunting deer. I shot one that we video taped (on the front page of my webste and on here known as "Oreo Hunt") that was a beautiful Hamp Sow. It was about 104 degrees that day and I was in a treestand. The day before it was 105 and I stalked a boar 130 yards and shot him. The things you endure when you have an addiction...
I'm in Navarro County, Texas just outside of Corsicana. If you're ever remotely close to here hunting maybe I can meet up and hunt with ya sometime. My favorite down here are hogs.

Good luck in Colorado. I hunt mulies, elk, etc in Montana pretty much every year. This year a friend and I will be up there with my inlaws looking for antelope, elk, and Whitetails. I'll be bowhunting elk up there next year with my brother-in-law. I go up the 1st of November. Have a good and safe trip.
Thanks for the add! Sorry it took so long, i have been hunting in Canada. How is everything going? It was nice to have met you a few months ago... and your wife. Keep in touch.
Thanks
Good luck with your hunting season. I hope that your meeting with Old Tom has went great.
