Project Manager for a contruction company, we are currently working in NC, SC and VA. Started hunting with my father when I was about twelve. He loved to listen to his beagles chasing those little cottontail rabbits. I now try to take one week each season to travel and hunt big game in the US and Canada. I also enjoy taking the wife and vacationing in some of the beautiful locations across our great country.
[quote="nchunter54"]I live in Sampson County near the old Plain View School, just off Hwy 421. Hope you are having a great season - me, I'm batting zero.
No I got a nice sized cowhorn the right after gun season came in, and missed a big 8 about 2 weeks ago. At least I am seeing something I know a bunch of people have not around here.
Checked out your pictures, you have some good ones. I loved the Heron sign, sent a week there in 2006 hunting elk with Elk Creek Outfitters.

That's where I went for guide school. Great place and people there! I would move there if I could! If you remember Tim from there(the mgr. of the guides) He just killed a beautiful Mt. Lion in April. He was on Taxidermy Trails tv show with the whole hunt.
WOW! Sounds like an AWESOME EXPERIENCE! I too try to go somewhere every year, and that was the worst part of losing the hunt,, not the money but the part of my life experience that cannot be replaced. Makes you appreciate the time we have to hunt in our lifetime! I truly hope your mule deer hunt is another lifetime experience for you!

I had a trip planned with tuttilik outfitters last year,, the day before we were leaving, the outfitter sent an email saying they were filing for bankruptcy, , lost the hunt and the $$$! Who where the surprise guests? Would you go back again with this outfitter?

NICE BOU! WHERE AND WHAT OUTFITTER DID YOU USE?
Mirage Outfitters - Quebec 2005
Great trip and a number of B&C caribou taken that hunt
A few surprise guest in camp that week also
That would have been a bummer! The same thing happened with three of the guys who got in on our hunt. But they did not find out until they were at the hotel in Montreal. They got hooked up with our outfitter who opened another camp for them. One dude, Stewart, took the new SCI world record, super caribou! Two other hunters had driven up from Texas and then turned around and had to drive back home, no hunt and no refund.
Surprise guest were Ralph and Vicki from Archer's Choice and Michael Waddell and Marc Womack from Realtree Roadtrips. My hunting buddy, John Smith, got on the RR show. You can check out my galley or my web page for some pictures. It was a great week!
Yes, I would use them again. One friend of mine is going with Mirage this fall. John and I are heading to Alberta this fall for mule deer.
