I am a Sgt. for the El Dorado Police Department narcotics division. I have hunted and fished all of my life and look most forward to bow season and duck season, but I'll rarely turn down any opportunity to hunt or fish for anything! I have two daughters 12 and 9. Jordan, my oldest, is a real girly girl drama queen, but she will still stick it out with me in a deer stand. She just killed her first year, and now she wants a buck. Julia, my youngest, is tougher than any boy I could have had, and I expect that if big sis gets one, she'll be wanting to give it a go too.
As I've gotten older, hunting and fishing has become just as important as an outlet to let go of my job for a while and spend time with my girls as it is for killing or catching anything.
I have been married for twelve years. Though my wife doesn't hunt or fish, she has been a patient widow of both:). We have a deal; I don't ask her to go hunting, and she doesn't ask me to go shopping. It works out just fine.

Thanks.I still haven't got me my first deer yet.Me and my dad went this evening but we didn't see anything at all but we heard some deer moving around when it started getting dark.I think at times the deer is moving later in the evening.We set about 10 yards from the trail.Might go hunting tomorrow i need as much luck as i can get.Hopefully i get me a deer soon.I had a person on myspace tell me the other day that he has a ranch somewhere here in oklahoma i can hunt on next year.He said he would come and pick me up and go hunting with me.
Haven't had time to go hunting. Between my day job and my night job (taxidermy) and building new horse pasture not much time left. Trying to finish up left over deer from last season. Its time for it to start all over again, but thats what pays the bills.
Yeah it has been cut back a bunch, I made it out 5 days so far and passed one 3.5 year old 9 and a couple 2.5 10s. Hope to make it out more after the guns go silent and get one with my bow.

Best year hunting I've ever had. Got a bobcat and eight point with my bow, a big eight with my rifle and my daughter got her first ever. I can't complain one bit! How bout yourself?
Sounds like you and your daughter had a great year.I haven't had much luck yet.Seen alot of does but haven't had them get into bow range.The first day we went this year i had a young doe about 3 yards from me i could of easily shot it but i decided to let it pass on by so that it could get bigger.I'm hoping to get me my first deer soon.Over the years i haven't shot anything but came close.Another season i like is spring turkey.Almost got me a jake at 15 yards from my blind but my shotgun missfired
