i've been hunting since i was old enough to walk and guiding in 5 western states and ole'mexico for going on 15 yrs.
did a 6 yr stint in the USMC
born and raised in wyoming, catch ratlesnakes with my hands and dance a pretty mean jitterbug.
i try awful hard to spend 175-200 days a yr in the field either chasing my own or someone elses.
i'm straight foward and painfully honest and have a very low tolerence for BS.
i believe in hunting hard "all" the time.
rather watch the sun rise than set as that means i have the whole day ahead of me.
Hey cowboy, what you been doing this summer? Have any sheep hunts coming up soon? Some of the sheep and pronghorn hunts are already happening here in Oregon.
Archery season starts in 10 days, I'll mostly be hunting elk but won't pass up a fat buck if a shot presents itself.
Do you keep a journal about hunting? I've been doing it for years. Just jot down what, when, and where I hunt and see things.
Keep in touch and tell me some good hunting stories when you can.
are you MIA? Or you just got a girlfriend that's keeping you occupied?
screen door's done, bear season's over, project up the river is almost wrapped up.
might be able to visit some now.
how's things in the shadow of mt.hood?
no bear for me,didn't see the right one
been raining here in wy nearly the entire month of june
not normal for wy but gotta love it,all the resivoirs are full and there is still some snow left on the mt.
big game draw came out wed and i got a antelope tag
putting together my fall guiding schudule and with my hunting i ought to put in 110-120 days afield, how you been?
Gettin' by, have alot of bucks, bulls, and bears going by my trailcams. The antler growth seems a couple weeks behind then last year, but I imagine it'll all work out in the long run.
Been pretty wet and cool around here also! Nothing out of the 70's this month, and the grass is waist high everywhere.
Been building a few arrows lately, and shooting my bow quite a bit.
got shut down this weekend only 2 white deer horns and a small 5pt bull.
but it was 50+ here in wyo!!!!
Hey cowboy,
I worked yesterday and today, but will most likely be off the rest of the week.
Found some really nice 4pt buck sheds last FRiday, but the weather was really bad over the weekend so I stayed home.
I haven't heard of anybody local finding any elk sheds yet.
Tk
well it was 50+ last time i talked to you and 60 this last weekend.
picked up the 1st set of this yrs brown and fresh elk horns sat,
this one goes about 310 with a broken sword
saw 37 bulls and only 3 had dropped and i found the 1 set.
thought that was pretty good,
batterys in my camera were dead so no pics, will take more when i go to pick up the others, pulled 1/2 of a 380 bull last yr,thou i didn't see him this trip he is the one i'm looking for.
is there any spring bear hunting there and is that something you are interested in?
here in wyo it starts may 1 and i can't wait
Congrats on the fresh elk bones! I found 4 buck sheds Saturday, but nothing special.
Spring bear is a draw hunt, fall bear is OTC. I don't bear hunt, but have several friends that hammer them pretty hard on the coast in April and May.
I'm big into killing big old gobblers. I think it's the fact that turkey hunting is close to hunting elk in the rut that gets my adrenalin pumping.
Yeah I try to talk to him once in a while and eventhough it's difficult to understand him, he clearly hasn't lost his sense of humor. I might be able to go see him next month, I'll be going to carizo springs to hunt rio's and a hog or two with Hugh.
Hey stud, how's it going? Have any big plans for the weekend?
I'm going to check a trailcam tomorrow morning, then poke around for a shed or three.
TK
i've never been so sick for so long and am just today feeling human again,dn't know what the bug was but it kicked my butt for 2 weeks.
right now i've become really good friends w/ my couch.
hope to make a circle later this week, how bout you?any fresh bone to brag about?
I finally am getting over my crud...I think! I went out yesterday and found three fresh sheds, one really nice matched that was bloody on the bases. They were dropped Friday night I'm sure. Put the pics of them in my gallery.
Shake the crud!
nice work!ya gotta love bloody burrs,no nothing about b.t.s
yep sounds like you're healed up.
hows the timber industry? still working steady?
I'm still working, but not sure for how long! Things are looking mighty bleak around here in the near future.
I got clobbered by a little snag today at work. Hit me across the left shoulder and head. Don't think anything is broken, just sore and bruised.
