Hey Erin,
Hope your having a great turkey season.
I almost got me my first turkey last wednesday.It was quiet for an hour or so and i decided to wait a couple mins and i used my slate call and there was a turkey that was about 10 feet behind me gobbling it got about 5 yards to my left and once the jake got close to the decoys it must of seen us and took off i tried my call but couldn't get it to come in.Than about 30 mins later i seen a nice tom but it was about 30 mins to my right and the tree was in the way.Than on thursday we decided to use our blinds and i happen to look out of my left window and in a field behind us i seen a jake coming in it was windy so it never gobble i could of shot but i didn't have my window open.And it got about 30 yards infront of me and i had my shotgun on him and i decided not to shoot i thought that maybe i would see that tom in the area the decoys was hitting the bryers so the turkey decided to walk away.We got us some hen decoys to go with our tom decoys maybe they will come in closer.Can't wait to get me my first turkey ever.
