ABOUT ME
Waterfowling is addicting...no doubt about it! I found my passion for birds deep in the marshes. The only problem? The off season. After several years of going crazy waiting for the up coming season, I started to fill the time by taking up waterfowl carving...just one more addiction! I have now been carving for several years and my decoys have been influenced by some of the great carvers of the Upper Chesapeake Bay, R.Madison Mitchell, Jim Pierce and Charley Pierce have been a great help to me. I am fortunate enough to be near the Havre De Grace area and have been able to observe masters at work and even take advice and criticism. There is no better pleasure than hunting over a spread that has been hand carved. I now sell my decoys for gunning over or collecting. They float great in the water and look just as good in the living room. Feel free to shoot me a message or check out my gallery of birds.
I see you do some beautiful work also. I started my carving hobby a long time ago doing duck decoys (woodies, canvasbacks, Scaup, mallards, teal, loons). I always like the working style like I see you are doing. Very nice!
Nice deeks man, Carving is a great way to pass the off-season. I Was curious as to where Glenmoore was, I'm suspecting it is in southern pa since you carve in the Chesapeke bay style. I'm from around Harrisburg, hunting mainly the Susquehanna, and the local style is mostly black cork, wide bodied birds with wooden keels. I do have some local birds carved in the Chesapeake bay style as well.
thanx for the request, your decoys look great.
