got a batch of 210 berger VLD bullets to try and do some load testing next weekend, we'll see how they work out
Hey that sounds great. I'm look forward to hearing about how they shoot for u. Also I talked to my brother we would be interested in gettin together & shoot with u some time. You had mentioned that you shoot close to Shippensburg we could meet u there if it works for u. Thanks for keepin in touch
What do you load the Overall cartridge length to, bob never gave me that, so I tried a couple settings. Went out today to break in barrel and get 100yd zero, got it zeroed really quick. So I set up some milk jugs at 550yds and shot , gun was smooth. Had 3 shots left, only loaded 20, set up a target at 550yds and managed to shoot a 1 3/8" group at 550yd. Was pretty happy with that. I have some load data for 210gr berger's, 220 Sierra, if you don't already have them.
Why don't u call me & we can go into more details 7179897181 I think that would be better.
Have you been using the 30 hart for groundhogs, or another caliber. 890yds is a pretty good poke, I try to use a wind meter when shooting past 500yds. You need a good rangefinder for hogs that far away. I would like to upgrade to a swarovski range finder this year.
Yes I'v been using my 30 hart.My Father use's a swarovski range finder & I use a Lieka 1200. His works great but I still like mine better. When ranging out at 800yd the circle in the swaro. covers to large an area for me.My lieka has a real small sguare for ranging about halve the size of the swaro. which I think works better for me plus the new Lieka 1200 u can fit in your shirt pocket & still works really great.
I'm still waiting patiently for my new toy, I'm getting really excited as I know it's coming soon.
Yea I'm sure u are. I've been shooting ground hogs every chance I'm getting. So far I got about 10 & 3 at 600yd. I tried at 890yd but no sucess it was a little to windy.I also got my turkey the first day at 11:30a.9 1/2" beard 1' spurs 21 lb's (How about u)
Turkey season is among us in Maryland. Remember to stay quiet, don't move and cover up.
Spring tip: Make the lead hen fight you in your calls and she will come after you. The gobbler will chase the lead hen and that is how you get them henned up gobblers to come out and play :)
Enjoy the time off and don't forget to keep an eye on us here, we are planning something big over the weekend :)
Thanks.
