Gun Test
Posted On 05/08/2008 09:41:02 by OnTargetShootingSupplies
Just recently tested four major brand pistols for a local LE for functionability, accuracy, pointability, reloading, cycling and comfort/Carry.  Test started from the arms length initiating achnor point shooting, then the 7yrd with double taps, 10yrd with speed firing.  At the 15yrd, control, breathing and accuracy were the concern, with three shot groups from standing, prone and barricade, in which measurements were taken.  Then to 26ft again with speed and standard controlled firing.  The firearms used, were, the Glock 22, M&P, Springfield XD40 and the Beretta Px4 Storm, all in .40 cal.  Stay tune for the results. I already have an idea which one just might perform the best.

Well the results are in!  The Beretta and the M&P very close tie.  Glock came in next then the Springfield XD.  The Beretta PX4 Storm had a better control and due to the rotating barrel possibly a better barrel link up possibly giving it a little more accuracy.  The M&P very good feel with a little more recoil than the beretta. The Glock of course showed above par accuracy and recoil like the M&P.  The XD recoil like the beretta but a little akward with sight aligment.  Barrel sits so high on top of the receiver (my opinion only).  Px4,M&P & Glock need rubber slip-on grips, all three moved while shooting due to pesperation.  (Some people say make a tighter grip, but gripping to tight on a pistol grip will cause shaking of hand, no joke!)  Accuracy was very Berreta ave. 2.32, M&P 2.85 GLOCK 3.25 XD 3.85.  Will test again. for review. I due believe, A STORM is  coming... More tp come
