Serrious bear hunters know that the easten section of North Carolina is prime bear habitat producing bruins that tip the scales at 600+ lbs.

Those are some huge bears. I think PA had quite a few killed at over 600 lbs this past season to. Simply amazing that the huntable population is back to the point of having bears that big!
