Meet the Hosts!
Charlie Ingram (left)
Charlie Ingram was born and raised in the middle Tennessee area. From the time he was 3 years old he was spending all the time he could in the outdoors. He learned to fish using a cane pole with sewing thread for line and a safety pin to use as a hook. He went to school in Spring Hill and graduated from Spring Hill High School before going to Middle Tennessee State University. He graduated from MTSU with a degree in Animal Science.
After college, Charlie spent several years fishing tournaments on the local and state levels. In 1980 he fished his first national tournament, a BASS event on Lake Okeechobee in Florida. While the results from that tournament were not all that great, it wasn't long before things turned around. He was the first angler to ever win three BASS tournaments in one calendar year and has four BASS victories to his credit. He has spent the last 28 years fishing BASS and/or FLW tournaments and has qualified for eight BASS Master's Classics and four FLW Championships. He is currently fishing the BASS Southern Opens as well as the PAA tournament circuits.
In 1988, he started his how-to fishing program "Fishing University" helping fellow anglers learn the ins and outs of using different fishing techniques . A few years later he started his hunting how-to show, Hunting University. He and his partner Dirt King have hunted around the world, from Argentina to New Zealand and many points in between.
Charlie, like Dirt, has developed land for hunting in Kentucky and Tennessee. His farms, Walnut Falls, in Centerville, TN as well as his land in Kentucky has been used for hunts on the show over the years. His dedication to the formation of food plots as well as his desire to provide proper nutrition for the wildlife is evident in the results that can be seen on those shows.
Charlie has been married to his wife Susan for over 34 years. They have two children, Hunter is the CEO of Hometown Quotes and daughter Anna a senior at MTSU and his biggest fan and favorite hunting buddy. They make their home in Santa FE, TN.
David "Dirt" King (right)
"Dirt" King was raised near Reelfoot Lake and the Mississippi River in the northwest corner of Tennessee, and spent several years as a singer and keyboard player in several nationally known touring and recording bands.
"Dirt" grew from his early experiences as a hunting and fishing guide around Reelfoot and Kentucky Lake to become manager and later president of a sporting-goods store, and grew that business into "World Outdoor Resources," an international wholesaler of sporting goods and supplies.
The company's domestic division, "Midsouth Shooters Supply" is one of the country's leading mail-order distributors of shooting equipment. "Dirt" continues to work with a wide variety of hunting and fishing manufacturers in the USA and other countries to develop new ideas, products and technology; he is also involved in development of recreational hunting and fishing acreage, and his most recent venture is a partnership with nationally-known outdoorsman Charlie Ingram to produce "Hunting University".
"Dirt" has been married to his wife, Connie, for over 40 years. She is an avid hunter and shooter and who lends a hand in running the family business. Their daughter Cammie is also involved, as the comptroller for "Dirt's" many business ventures. His other daughter, Christy Lee, is a pharmacist.
