Turn down the power. You don't want to shoot at 60 plus pounds. You can but it takes alot of the fun out of fighting the fish. They sell a bunch of product, but keep it simple. You will have more fun and you will caught on faster. Look for shallow water or water that's not moving off aof a river. There will be lots of gars to shot. Hope this helps, Mike Simpson, do you shoot a sight????

Hey bud, don't want to steer you off cuz I like CamoSpace too but if you can handle more than one place to visit join my forum at www.Just-Hunt.com. We are a small yet growing and encouraging group passionate about our outdoor heritage. There are several that would LOVE to give you tips, info, etc. on bowfishing - probably more than you could handle! LOL They LOVE getting new people started in bowfishing, etc. I know one of my staffers there "DeadEyeDeb" has taken more than 1,000 carp with her bow. I've JUST gotten into bowfishing and just finished up my compound setup. I've gone twice with a loaner recurve but am goose egg for about 10 shots. I missed a 49" gar by about an inch but my buddy's son shot it after I missed. We also shot a 6' gar but he somehow managed to pull off. Going again soon and am addicted to it although I haven't stuck anything yet...bowhunting, now that's something else. I can hit the animals, just not the fish yet. See ya over on Just-Hunt.com if you want some good bowfishing tips!
