This is crazy.  Wolves will eat what they can find and kill.  It doesn't matter if it is a dog, cat, deer, child etc.  Encouraging this for which their is no control is stupid.  Next, why not let a preditor in there that thinks, could use the meat or donate it to someone who does.  Commonly known at the Hunter.  They don't bother pets, children, etc.

 

Make it Archery only.  It beats paying some company to come in there late at night with rifles to do the same job.  Cost the citizens nothing.  Provides a great source of pleasure to the hunters who pay the bills anyway.

Why are people getting stupider as I grow older.

this is ridiculous im a guide in central ID and we can hardly even book elk and deer hunters because of wolves. shock collers arent going to help any either. we dont like turning our hounds loose because those wolves kill em like there flies and our wildlife all together is goin to hell. so yea if you wanna ruin hunting and kill all wildlife go ahead and put em there.

wolves are not the solution. just ask people who live were there is aready a wolf population they will give you an ear full.

OMG!!! This is the purest example of stupidity I've ever heard of! This is the typical voice of the uneducated and naive!! Let me get this straight........ so instead of bringing in stealthy, unseen bowhunters who will use the venison for families and needy, they want to bring in dangerous, intelligent, carnivorous wolves, who have in fact been documented attacking and killing humans, and especially the young! Do the also not realize that "shock collars" will not stop a hungry 150 lb. + wolf who wants something past the "invisible fence"?! I know guys who have the "top of the line" collars on they're hunting dogs and after a while even the top settings dont fase the dogs anymore!!!!! And these are small dogs that arent trying to hunt for food!!!!!!!! Eventually the wolves will grow an immunity to the shock, or the rest of the pack will just chew off the "nuisance" collars! Trust me, I had "pet wolves", the collars wont last, and these people will NOT be able to control these wolves. I didnt see in the article either- are these all males, or females, or both? And if so are they "fixed"? Or do should they be prepared for new generations and more and bigger packs?
Wow! To me this is like saying " The pet store down the street is having a problem with too many goldfish, I think we should bring in some grizzly bears to take down the numbers"!!!!! Dont let us (humans) ethically control the numbers, no, lets bring in a deadly "lethal" force that we wont be able to control!
Well when these wolves start attacking family pets or heaven forbid somebodys child, we'll see these uneducated families and people do the quickest 180 you've ever seen! And the thing is, its not the wolves fault! They are only doing what they're are wired to do by god, eat, and procreate!!!
May heaven help the people in Raleigh North Carolina!

I think wolves should be used to control an overpopulation of .22-250 ammunition in my closet. Wolves are the single reason the wildlife population around Wyoming has dropped significantly over the past few years, as well as livestock and pets.
