When it rains it pours

The saying holds true for me this weekend. Or more acurately for the last couple weeks.
We have 3 vehicles that are our primary diving vehicles. One mostly sits and is used occationaly (alot in the summer for pulling the camper, boat)
Anyway with 5 kids we need bigger vehicles obviously. We my wife drives a 1998 Grand Caravan. The car I was talking about about above is a 02 GMC Yukon XL. And my daily driver is a 1989 Dodge Dakota. Nothing special or fancy, just A to B kind of things for our daily grind.

The Yukon is our nice vehicle. It hasn't been running right for months. I was told by the dealership it needed and intake gasket, $500. Well I hate spending money on something I can do myself. Especialy when the part cost $35. So I buy the part and tear into it. I end up replacing another 100 dollars worth of parts while I'm at it. Still it wasn't right. Another 150 in wire, plugs, and a coil pack, and still nothing. Well I think I've figured out what it was and now for less than they would have done the $35 dollar gasket I have alot of stuff I needed to do done and I have a good idea what the real problem is (fuel injector) So I still have to get it

.

So I'm driving to work during the whole Yukon ordeal. And I get a flat on my daily driver vehicle (89 dakota) So I pull over and take the tire off only to find the spare doesn't fit. I'm talking won't even go on at all. I end up getting a ride on into work and spend half the day getting 2 tires put on. this truck has 240k on it so I don't spend a whole lot on it. It has had a few issues as of late but nothing realy more than anoyances.

Then there is my wifes caravan. She went out of town a couple weeks ago. So before she went I decided to put wheel bearings on it as her car has 180k on it. I get everything apart and find she needs rotors and pads. I head to the parts place and pick them up and head back and then notice a bulging break line. So back to the arts place. I got it all back together and she went on her trip. Fast forwart to saturday night. The trip had went fine. We were out late visiting friend 25 minutes or so away from the house. Afterwards I decided to go to walmart to pick up a couple things for her car (oil additive, belt dressing) I put the oil stuff in and spray a little belt dressing on the bet untll I can get around to changing it. Then POW....the serpintine (sp?) breaks right in front of my eyes. So I call to get someone to pick us up. Now picture my wife and I and all but one of our kids (my boy was with is mamaw.) 2-14 month olds, my wife, my older daughters, and I sitting in Walmart parking lot at something like 2 am. LOL It was kind of funny.
I spend yesterday getting a friend to tow it and got all new belts for it and got them on.

Sorry for the long post. I just had to vent a little. All in all it wasn't to bad since I do the work myself. But when your not planning on it, it does get a bit frustraiting.

Anyway could have been much worse.
