I posted some blogs on our Hunt Nut page too, but I figured I post a quick overview here as well.
When we got up to Maine after leaving before 4 a.m. I didn't really know what to expect. We met Pete and Linda and started checking bait sites right away. The activity had really slowed down, but we still had high hopes for the week. Denton and I planned on hunting a stand site called Town Farm, but had our minds changed when a bait that hadn't been hit at all suddenly had a good bit of action. This would prove costly.
I shot in my bow to make sure nothing had changed and had to retune my Innerloc Falcons after removing them from my arrows for the trip. Once I adjusted the BAT to get the blades where I wanted them they were flying like darts.
Denton and I hunted the Mudgett Meadow bait Monday and Tuesday and Town Farm was hit Monday evening at 7:15.
We switched back to Town Farm and saw nothing all week and then Mudgett Meadow got hit during shooting hours on Saturday. Double

Oh well, what can you do? That is hunting, especially on a DIY trip.
We still had a great time though and Pete, Linda, Nick, and Larry were great hosts. I can't wait to hunt with them again and next time we WILL put something on the ground!
