Shooting guns and fishing in East Texas
Posted On 07/26/2008 19:19:53 by texasangler
I had a busy day yesterday.  First, I went to my Aunt's  farm to shoot my guns.  I haven't shot my 410 since the last time I went dove hunting back in the 9th grade.  The 410 that I have was my grandfather's and it takes the 2.5 inch shells and they did not make them for a while but now you can find them.  It felt so good shooting that gun.  Then I shot my 20 gauge which for some reason did not make my shoulder sore.  I have an old pellet gun that takes 22 cal. pellets but the kind I bought has a pointed head on them and mine seems to take the rectangular ones which I don't know if I can find them.  Probably will look on Ebay for those.  Then later that day I attempted to try to do some fishing at Lake Palestine and I waited until nearly sunset and it was still hot.  I only stayed for 45 minutes because the air was so hot and it was miserable.  I almost wanted to jump in the lake after that.  Of course I didn't catch anything but at least I got to wet my hook for a little bit.  I will be going back to Joe Pool Lake soon and hopefully I will have some luck catching something there.
