Be Thankful for What YOU Already Have!
Posted On 07/11/2008 09:55:37 by Penfishingrods
Is being humble, grateful and thankful a survival skill? Perhaps most of you would respond with, "No, thankfulness is not key to survival," and I would have to agree with you. Most of us have probably already solved the necessary problems of survival, gone beyond that and are now working to achieve our desires and goals. But let me phrase it this way, "Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you want." I believe one of the greatest and perhaps one of the simplest lessons in life we can learn is to be thankful for what we have already received and accomplished.

Both the years and the experiences have brought us here to where we stand today. However, it is the thankfulness that opened the opportunities, blessings, of unique experiences to flow our way. My gratitude starts with my parents who raised me, gave me an incredible foundation that has lasted me all of these years and continues with life's mentors that I've met along the way who absolutely changed and revolutionized my life, my perception of self worth, my mind and my future. I am also very thankful for the people who gave me the chance to work, labor, to fail and succeed and to produce results so I may taste the fruits of my labor. All of that has brought me to this place today. I'm grateful for it all. What a unique opportunity each one of us here in this world has. There are so many of us; representing literally dozens and dozens of different countries, nations and cultures, that we can appreciate the uniqueness of our own experiences in life. Our experiences, both positive and negative, are what shapes every fiber of our being. The very same things have brought us all here, together, for the same purpose.

We're here to learn new skills and sharpen old ones. For the countries we represent; we have freedom and liberty in the United States. We have an unlimited choice of opportunities in which to work and strive for. These are extraordinary times like the world has never seen before , and in these types of times, it is imperative to strive a little harder than the next guy, to try to learn by your mistakes, to grow, to better yourself, to earn more, to have more, to experience more. We as a country and as a world have so much to be thankful for. Always start with thanksgiving; be thankful for what you already have and see the miracles that come from this one simple act. Now thankfulness is just the beginning, next, you've got to challenge yourself to produce. Produce more ideas than you need for yourself so you can share and give your ideas away to help others grow spiritually and financially. We have nothing to gain by keeping these thoughts and dreams to ourselves. We have only the death of our ideas to look forward to if we do not share them, as I am doing here today!

There isn't one person I know in my 40 years who hasn't taken an Idea or some part of someone else's thoughts or dreams and made them his/her own to establish a solid foundation in their own quest for success. That is called thought sharing and networking. To begin this incredible process of blessing of others, it often starts with the act of thanksgiving and gratitude, being thankful for what you already have and for what you've already done. Begin the act of thanksgiving today and watch the miracles flow your way. I want EVERYONE to succeed in life. I want EVERYONE to do better, to earn more, to feel better about themselves, their accomplishments and yes, even their failures. Our success lies heavily on not only our own failures, but those of others as much as successes in all of our lives. There are very few of us who will stick our hands in the flame of our stoves a third time. I can stake my reputation on it! :)
