Sometimes I have trouble justifying what I do here in Germany to get my point across to other like minded people who are not as well traveled. Let me start out first by saying there is little to no hunting done here as we know it. No bows, few guns and hunting in general is an uppity rich sport for Europeans. Its far different than what we do. Fishing is on the same level a govorment regulated activity that you need a class on how to do. Think about it like the hunter safty coarse for fishing. I myself hae fished since I was 4 and could not imagine having a class on it. The expence is out rageous for everything from hide and meat fees to rentals on a stretch of river to fish. Its not just different its obsurd.
That leads me into geocaching. If you don't know what it is look it up on
www.geocaching.com . I get out in the woods or the city or any place in between and use my GPS. Its practice for the big woods. I also get some good "training" on it for work. But that is far from the most important point.
Time with my daughter is far from extensive. I am in the Army not just duties and deployments keep me away from her. I love time with her and right now the only real place we have to learn about nature is on the geocaching path. Its something we do together and have fun with. Her mother could never show her what I show her like critters and stuff. She has her thing she can do with my daughter I have mine.
It isn't easy being over here with a small child. Its harder still to bring her up like so many of us have been brought up like. So anything that gets you out and about is good. Try it find a cache its really a great outdoor hobby and keeps you in the woods for scouting and just out where things are not hectic and demanding
