Kansas Turkey

Darrell and I just go back from Stafford, Kansas (www.CalloftheWildOutfitter.homestead.com) where we have been chasing turkey the last couple of days.  WE WERE SNAKE BIT!  I have never, in 5 years, gone to Kansas and ZEROED! The birds were definitely there, as always, but between the weather and bad luck we could not catch a break.

For years everyone has told me that turkey hunting was more fun than deer hunting.Well I finally am trying it and after my experience yesterday they were right.
For all you more experienced hunters this story may seem a little silly or may even bring back memories.
I have been hunting a dried up lake bed for about 4 days and heard a lot of turkeys and saw a couple of hens and a couple of jakes but all of the toms kept gobbleing up on a ridge that was too steep to climb from the lake bottom... Read More
