judging from what we saw yesterday. Saw a couple of different bucks paired up with individual does, and we rattled in a couple of bucks. Couldn't get close enough to any shooters, but Zach killed a doe just before dark. She was dry - no fawn. But she was also in major heat. Swelled up and mighty "chapped". Looked like she'd spent the last day or two with her favorite buck. She wasted no time get... Read More

Tammy and I headed to the blind yesterday evening. When we got there we turned on the "hog light" that was on the feeder. We waited for a nice deer to come in before dark, but that didn't happen. We continued to sit after dark to see if the pigs would come in. Nothing was coming in so around 7:00 we got out of the blind.

Today started off with a Duck & Goose hunt. Our limits for the day were 8 Ducks, 8 Canadian Geese, and 20 Snow Geese. Well there were 3 of us who were shooting so the potential to have over 100 birds on the ground and going to the freezer sounded awesome. The area we ended up in had been scouted for 5 continous days before we showed up to hunt there this morning and each day it was loaded
with geese and even had some ducks mixed in as well. Our guide determined that this would give us bet... Read More

Canada - Day 3

Today was our second day Pheasant hunting.

Today we did it a little different, instead of taking to the field with just 1 dog and 2 hunters, we released 100 birds and had 4 dogs working with 6 hunters.

Amongst the 6 of use we ended up with 76 birds total. I was just beat at the end of the day, as we spent all day hunting pheasant. We started at 8am, and finished about an hour before sunset. Ron Chaffer quickly gathered his things up and we went to an open field where they ha... Read More
