The game Commission recently finalized the purchase of about 6500 acres here in Elk County. Much of that land had been closed to public hunting for many years due to be part of a hunting lease. That land had been, and still is, bordered with “No Trespassing” signs. Some people have stated that they would volunteer some time to help remove those signs. Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania Senates' game and Fish Committee held the first of several hearings on increasing hunting license fees. The Pennsylvania game Commission has not had a license increase in nearly ten years. The last in 1999. It was a beautiful winter day on December 1st in New York State! I proceeded out of my door at 7:00 am to my favorite hunting spot. It's a beautiful unexplored parcel of land attached to a very affluent farm in one of our NY counties. From what I understood, there hasn't been hunters allowed on the farm since the early 1900's.
