BaseCampLegends.com is a new web community where we invite you to set up your own blogs, tell stories on the forums, share pictures and videos, and more. We're always looking for good stories! Co founders Tom Sorenson and Gary Sorenson are a father son team that stumbled into this business after a few years of experimenting with creating a magazine. Tom Sorenson runs the hands on stuff (including running this page!) while Gary handles the business end of things. Self taught business owners, they share a passion for the outdoors - and the stories and memories that go with it. It was our idea to create a site where all the many great stories that each sportsman has could be shared and preserved for years to come. Come visit us at basecamplegends.com

Was just up on the Middle Fork of the Weiser followin' my brother on an elk hunt - no talking, saw lots of sign, lots of pretty country, a few rear ends of elk, but nothing on the ground. Had fun, though and we'll do it again soon!
Welcome to camospace, my fellow Idahoan.

I feel for you. It is always difficult to hunt new land, but it is an awesome adventure to learn it. I try to learn new areas of public land each summer. I'm sure you will find a way to be sucsessfull in WA too. Good luck kepp me posted.
Still here in ID and been out elk hunting a few times - not much going on yet. Animals aren't talking yet and it makes it difficult, but we're enjoying ourselves, anyhow! How's things over there? Getting ready for your seasons?
I'm headed ouy yo hang a couple stands right now. Our blackbear season starts next weekend. We can't bait or anything but I usually use it as an excuse to get out in the woods and scout. Archery starts on the 27th can't wait. Hope to see some elk pics from you guys soon. - Chuck

Hey Tom,
I'm having trouble looking for music for my videos that I don't need to pay for. Where do you get your grooves from and do you pay for them.
Thanks

Most places you'll have to pay for - if not, it is probably illegal music. I have a Mac, though, and there is a program on there that I can use to create my own music - don't have to pay for that...have to pay for the Mac, though!
A pretty decent place to get music without paying too much, though, is Stock20 - I think it is the best place there is. Good sounding music for really cheap. I wish I would have known about it before paying $400 for one song when we first started this thing.
Let me know if you've got any other questions - y'all getting ready to head out hunting soon?
Tom
Ok thanks Tom
Ya we've been gettin good footage of bugle some bull elk. What program do u use to make your music?
Happy Hunting

Black bear starts around the second week of september and whitetail starts the 27th. I'm all sorts of ready to rock and roll!
I hear ya, man! Exactly two weeks from today, I'll be sitting in a hot blind waiting for an antelope...I can't wait! Then Aug. 30 elk season starts....I'm finding it real hard to concentrate on anything these days!
I think it would be awesome to be able to hunt all the stuff the west has to offer. I think I'm gonna pack my babs and move. Don't get me wrong I love it here, but man there is some critters out there.
There is a great variety of animals to hunt out here, for sure. I love it and wouldn't trade it for the world - although, I'm compromisign a bit as I am sacraficing my favorite thing to hunt (elk) and moving to Washington where the elk hunting is somewhat less than it is here in Idaho and Oregon - oh well, a guy has got to pay the bills, and when a sweet paying job opens up out of state, well...maybe I'll find WA has better elk hunting than I thought!
7 days till antelope season!

Ya I graduated in 2001. I probably whooped you ass at one time or another! Just Kidding, I actually transferred to Centennial High in Meridian so I could play football at a bigger school! Oregon does have some great elk hunting. I will be hunting the Weiser River unit
Yeah, that's when I graduated - I would guess we probably did run into each other at some point. And you all probably did kill us!
